Does this automatically pick up the new samsung firmware ms28 or do i have to still do that Chance that i brick my xbox drive soldering

The answer to your question is yes this will work in a laptop, BUT you cannot yet connect you samsung drive to a laptop. Xecuter has a great tool coming out, the X360USB but it is only for Hitachi at this time. They have stated the sammy version will be coming but there is no estimated time to be released.
