Hi guys.

I update to 3.2, Samsung, and I burn my games in a Pionner 111D, Ridata media.

It really load faster, but sometimes it makes a "break noise" and the CGs stop for 1 sec. then the drive starts to loading again, slowly.

This noise appears to force the drive somehow, its very strange. I notticed some guys are having the same problem. Is it really a problem or its normal? Can be the POT regulation?

Detail: I dont use labels  wink.gif

Thanks and sorry for the poor english.

Wow thats scary, that's why im sticking with 1.0 for now.

Anybody?.. blink.gif

Can anyone confirm wheter the above issues are resolved with the 3.2 f/w?
I've noticed the same with other cinamatics, such as in Burnout Revenge.
It's consistant for all samsungs as far as I know ..

And I've used Verbatims @ 2,4x ph34r.gif

lol people still use stick on labels?

get your self a epson R2xx or R3xx and some printable dvd's

The Epson's suck man.  They constantly have disc tray errors.  If you want a NICE label printer that's still CHEAP........go get a Canon Pixma.  There's a CD printing hack for it that you buy a tray, and it's 100% better than the Epson (I had the Epson first, then found out about the Canon and would never go back).  Sorry to get off track ;-)

Hey, anyone else having trouble with the attract movie scene being jerky when playing a backup copy of Lord Of The Rings, The Battle For Middle Earth with this firmware update? In some of the scenes mine would pause for a second, before continuing to play. It only does it with this game and with the Samsung drives. This was tested on two other Samsung drives, and did the same thing. The same backup played in the Hitachi drives plays flawless.:  unsure.gif

I noticed that, too.  I also noticed on the intro video on N3 it sometimes does the same skip/pauses (but not always).

NOT resolved.  I burn at 2x on Verbatim disks, updated to 3.2 and it still has the problem.

My samsung doesn't like Ridata that much, They are pretty noisey in my drive, Personally i think its down to the media you use, Verbatims for me and traxdata work the best and run smooth.

Do you think future releases will 'tone down' the speed tweaks?
As it's been mentioned before, I'm not sure running full speed 100% of the time is such a great idea.
It would be nice if the drive could run at full speed only when its necessary.
Also, perhaps a choice between the max read speeds, maybe two firmwares for the price of one (like an 8x, and a 12x), or a way to patch the firmware with our desired functionality.  Some of us cant get the media burned at an acceptable quality for 12x read.
Still, this is excellent work!

Once you go online, anything can happen.  With a stealth firmware you'll probably be ok, atleast for now.  But noone can give you guarantees.

I finally got around to upgrading to 3.2 & so far so good. I had made a drive switch from a Hitachi to a Samsung a few months back & my Sammy is a dev/refurb drive(its black). So im hoping that the drive going @ full speed doesn't kill the laser faster than need be, even more so in my case.  huh.gif  Either way, i could always put the Hitachi back in.

BTW...I noticed that when i was flashing 2 of my friends drives which were newer(got mine on launch), their s/n were properly spaced for when using X360SAM. Mine s/n was a series of #'s together. When i was flashing mine, i only spaced the last 4 digits from the rest & it still seemed to go through & work, same as when i flashed theirs. Anyone know if that really makes a difference?

Hello Guys: smile.gif

Got a problem with flashing 3.2 on my sammy ms25. I have a v2.0 flashed and backed up my original firmware on my harddrive but lost the file after a virus rendered my HD unusable. I checked everywhere, including the floppy but couldnt find the original firmware. I can extract the drive key from the hacked firmware.

But if I try to flash the 3.2 over the previous hacked one, I get a "To play this game please insert in an xbox 360 console" with every game, original or backup.

Now I used the floppy method, turn on my 360, booted my PC to the floppy and flashed with mtkflash (NF4 version, I have a DFI Lanparty UT NF4 SLI-D). Tried twice but no success, so had to flash back to the 2.0 xtreme firware, which works.

Could anyone be kind enough to give me their original firmware so I flash that and then the 3.2??? Or is there something else I need to do.

And I have opened my 360 so many times, its almost wrecked. And I dont want to lose this fine piece of hardware.

 Please help.
