Xtreme firmware 3.1 for TS-H943 Xbox 360
Posted by Iriez | August 28 01:03 EST

Commodore4eva has released a new firmware for the TS-H943 drive...
Quote
Added Booktype overwrite patch (bitsetting to Dvdrom no longer required)

Added Media speed patch (drive treats backup same as original)

Fixed DVD Movie backup/Xbox 1 backup read bug.

Stealth Media implemeted into firmware. Backups now appear exactly as original disk regardless of which disk check command used by Xbox 360
Enable0800 mode supports extraction of raw PFI (Physical Format Information) and raw DMI (Disk Manufacturing Information)
Support for loading of extracted PFI and DMI from disk
Non-Stealth Backups automatically enhanced with embeded PFI for Xbox 360 and Xbox 1
Included new Video.iso for Xbox 360 and Xbox 1 backups, now the same as originals
Security placeholders/bad sectors for 360 backups are outside both valid psn ranges so they cannot be read/checked by 360 host

Extraction part of firmware enabled with Enable0800 DVD. ISO included.
In Enable0800 mode, allows drive to function natively under Windows without any hardware conversion/adaptors
Boots all Xtreme Xbox 360 backups
Boots all Xtreme Xbox 1 backups
Boots all Xbox 360 originals
Boots all Xbox 1 originals on Xbox 360
Use on Xbox Live at own risk

I kind of liked the fact that a modded 360 ran quieter than an unmodded one, though I guess there would be possible performance problems in games that stream data from the drive while you play (with the old, slow firmware).

flashed with this, not seeing any increase in speed?

put in ghost recon original, as soon as it verifys it, it kicks to full speed
ghost recon burn on verbatim, stays quiet, and takes much longer then the original to get to the ubisoft video

i have dumped the firmware from the drive and verified that it SHA1 hashes the same as the xtreme31.bin with my key edited in, so its def on the drive

Great,

Can anyone confirm that their backups run without the booktype setting? I have at least 10 games that won't run because of this (kept them), but I have a Hitachi!

c4e, again, respect!!! have a question though, can you hexedit mtkflash for us to make it stop looking for the correct responsecode, and flash already? (ms28)

Did I read correctly when he said that non-stealth back-ups will work like stealth ones with this firmware??

in his news story explaining what "stealth" meant,  i think there may be more than one thing (technical term) being stealth.
