Let's say I didn't have one, how else could you check?

Is there something in Device manager, or in the flash utility that will show you what firmware is on it?

Christ man, you just said the same thing as the last guy.  muhaha.gif

Is there nothing in the flash programs to check what version of firmware is on the drive?

No, I didnt say the same thing. They told you to put in a backup............I told you to backup a game. Which means take an original game and try to back it up. If it works then your drive was flashed properly. Also, if your drive still boots originals at least you know you didnt botch the drive, which would mean you most likely did it right.

I can rip a game just fine, but I can't play one. Halo 2 for example which does work on my XBOX1 will not load.

you can't just use your old backups from xbox 1. And just because you were acting like a jerk I'll call ya a moron. Like the last guy said you should have read the tutrorial better. You have to make a new back up from xbox 1 games with the ss.bin just like the xbox 360 games.

LOL... ok tough guy.  I've been here for a long time just like you so if you want to base seniority on the number of posts then that's fine.  But who's the one here that has a working xbox?  Who's the one who can tell you that your xbox1 game doesn't work because you didn't read the instructions for the xtreme firmware?  Maybe someone else with more posts will want to explain things a bit more for you.

I'm glad you have your XBOX working, but you're not using your whole 3 posts to help anyone. If you were instead of being a dipshit, I'd be glad to get your help. In the meantime, I'm not interested in a flame war, I am interested in help. Please don't respond until/unless you have some to offer.

THANK YOU! You are welcome to call me names while giving truly helpful information like that all you want!

You are correct, I did not see that in any tuts.

My main quest was to find out the solution to what seems to be a bigger problem, look at my other posts and you will see where the frustration lies. Trying the XBOX game was just a quick try somethng else...

I have also tried Dead Rising, on Riteck Dl media, to no avail.

I just don't know how to use the process of elimination to see what is really going on here.

Try an original.
If it doesn't work, you ballsed up the flash.  If it does work, you've either not flashed it at all, you've flashed ORIG.BIN back again, or it's done.

I use a very simple method of testing.  Flash drive, test with original, if that works, test with a backup (burned on Verbatim DVD+R DL using a Pioneer 110D), if that works, all is well.

WTF, if you dont have one, make one, you shouldnt have a backup anyways if this is your first flash. You need to flash to back up.

Which came first the flash or the backup? The flash. So make a backup and try it. It's really not that hard.

If one simply flashed their drive, and burned the Dead Rising release, one still needs to patch it somehow? If so, I misunderstood something.

Trying to figure all this out, lots to read, and been reading lots.

First of all, you just broke the most important rule of XS, no talk of piracy. Like I said and others have said, try a fecking original X360 game or an original Xbox game that is on the BC list. If they work, then at least you didnt botch the drive with a bad firmware flash. Hell, worst case here would be that you reflashed the drive with its original firmware.

Like someone else said, open both the original firmware file and the modified one in a hex editor and check for differences.................................Why do i get this feeling you used one of the auto flashing programs and probably have no clue what I'm talking about now???????? rolleyes.gif

"OMG, what a dumbass, he used an auto flasher instead of a hex editor in Linux from a command line. He is so not 1337 like me and has no business on this forum trying to back up his media, only us pirates should be allowed here."

You're an idiot. The best part is you decided to do your 3rd post by pulling this thread from page 2! Good one!

And this is the 2nd mention of piracy about me, I dunno why since all I said was I am trying to back up my Dead Rising, how is that different from anyone else here?

Oh I know, nobody here is doing anything but backing up their EXPENSIVE games that will be a whopping $10 in a year from now...what was I thinking.
