One more question, it says in the readme "Creating a game backup", to use ISOBuster. I've been using wxripper hotswap to create game backups, and thought this was the only way. Can Hitachi's now backup games using the method listed in the readme file?

You no longer need to hotswap the disc and use wxripper, as once the drive in flashed with Xtreme v2.0
and you are in windows, and load an original xbox game in the drive, all the files are unlocked and
visible within windows. Only thing is you need to wait I find like 10 to 15 seconds before starting the RIP.

can you go ahead and flash over the v1.3? or do we have to use the restore method then flash to 2.0?

just wondering do you need to first run restore.bat?, o and do you have to get in modeb the way it tells you in the read me ? because i bought the connectivety kit.

You don't need to run the restore.bat, this release can flash over any existing of firmware.

The way for Mode B is extra feature for those WITHOUT the "connectivety kit", it is faster just to use the
"debug" button on the Team-Xecutor kit, and leave the tray close.

garyopa I just tried the firmware and it didnt work for me, it didnt brick my drive but it wouldnt boot any disk at all originals or backup I flashed it 2 times and the same thing happend it would take longer for it to go to the dash the the eject button wouldnt work so I flashed it with 1.4 and everything back to normal other then that the SS extraction worked fine.

forgat to add my drive is a 46

Hey - works great on my 47D

It actually allows some backups to boot that didn't work with 1.3 - may not be related to the new version, but it certainly feels good when something works smile.gif

just flashed my hitachi 47dj drive with the new xtreme firmware and i extracted the ss.bin using it and extracted the game iso using the hotswap method and wxripper tongue.gif

but when i go to merge them together using ss merger 1.6 it goes red saying that the ss.bin i selected is not the required one. is this normal?  the game i'm trying to backup is KAMEO_NTSC

the required md5 from the ss.bin is    D4B4F0B75924DBAF08102D37B4568EC3
the one i got from the ss extraction is BCFAF95F53CB5F1C3C338432205C8A60

i just want to collect everyones thoughts on this before i waste a good dvd-dl and time seeing if it will work or not wink.gif thanx

I still don't get that. I only see Video_ts and Audio_ts folders. In Isobuster, I see the session and a few more folders but nothing more than video_ts and audio_ts folders and what looks like a DVD contents. I'll try a rip again but it looks like it did before when I would backup a game and then an hour and half later have an invalid image. Do yousee  the actual file structure on a 360 game or is it an old xbox game? Mine doesn't seem to be unlocking the 360 game structure in Windows. The getss seems to be working fine. Flash went perfect. Great work, Garyopa. I just wish i could figure my problem out with ripping and seeing a game.

I haven't tried this yet, but Gary mentions that you should use the Isobuster method to grab the image.  Maybe try that with your SS files to see if you have a good image afterwards.  Just a thought.

i have a version 46 hitachi and i was at command prompt and ran "flash20 d 0020" everything ran well and it told me it was safe to restart the console however now my drive is bricked. i can't get the drive to recognize in windows anymore and i get a flashing red and green light when i try to boot it up. PLEASE HELP! i don't understand why it bricked my drive when everything was ok. I've flashed the drive with 1.3 and the original xtreme before and had no problems. HELP!!!
