I had my Hitachi in modeb with the 2 wire trick at least 10 times...i couldn't get my computer to recognize the drive so as I continued to play around...I bricked the drive accidently not noticing the 2 wires were touching as i looked around my pc...so much for that drive, i never got the orginal bin. My advice is the 2 wire trick is way to easy to brick a drive...I wasn't cautiuos enough, but it still way too easy to brick it. Any ideas if it is a circiut board that now has a short or is it simply a chip that has lost its bin...either way I'm not sure I'll get it back, but I wait and see what a few of the brighest people here come up with - I wish I could help...but I have limited knowledge (as evident with my brick)
