I had a similar problem with a TS-H943.  The onboard SATA in 2 of my computers would not recognize the drive.  The third PC I tried worked with no problems.  If it is not recognized by the controller durring the POST (system boot) first it will not be recognized regardless of what hex editing you do.  Make sure your SATA controller is seeing the drive first in the PCs BIOS.

It will usually be listed as one of the bootable devices in the BIOS if it is recognized by your system properly.

Hope this helps,
Runk

If it used to work, try a different SATA cable.  Another thing that can make a difference is the "PnP OS enable/disable" option in the BIOS.
