Well, that's the problem, Im trying to flash samsung drive, but, my pc is freezing when I boot with the 360 Powered on, it's happening just in the Screen asking for F2 to Setup or F10 to select boot device (if I switch 360 off the Pc boots just Ok), I've tried to boot 360 after pc, but won't recognize the drive, don't know what to do...
never tried disabling everything except used SATA port

My pc is a Gateway GT3010M
Intel D915GVSE3 Mobo integrated SATA
Not Sure about chipset model, but is a Intel Chipset (a recent one, 915)

Anyone with the same problem?

#1, next time don't get a gateway
you should be powering your PC on with the drive/xbox OFF.

if it's not finding the drive there is something else wrong. probbaly your mtkflash file doesn't know how to find the sata devices.
in which case..

Well, I've deactivated all IDE and SATA drives, in my bios there's an option to deactivate IDE channel, and SATA Channels has 2 modes:

Legacy         (This allow me to boot even if the 360 is already powered on)
Enhanced     (This won't allow me to boot with the 360 already powered on, freezes the pc)

Well, I've set SATA mode to Legacy, now MTKFlash recognizes the drive, but recognizes 2 Drives in IDE mode
When I select the first, the the 360 DVD led activity indicator tells there's some activity and it drops an error

Can't recognize the type of flash

Well, I've checked up the info for Patching mtkflash for my chipset, but MSinfo32 won't recognize it as a SATA interface, even If I leave the Bios set to Legacy mode.

What can I do?

I didn't try to use /SATA flag (parameter) in MTKFLASH

BTW, my chipset appears to be a ICH6

Chipset as detected by Intel Chipset utility

I was having the similar problems for many hours until I read somewhere to enter your selection as soon as you see the first light power up on your 360. Worked like a charm but I had to do the power up trick each time for the backup of fw and the flashing for my pc to detect the samsung. Good Luck

Thaks everyone!

Now I have solved the problem, but let me tell there's some strange things on this mod (in my case)

When I first get to read the Drive with the /SATA Flag, Flash chip was detected as a AMD chip

Flash type : AMD(AM29LV008BB)

The dump was about 1 Mb, then I run into some trouble.....
Then deactivated IDE Channel and set SATA mode to Enhanced, Powered ont the box till Dos was up, the command working was

mtkflash r /SATA backup.bin

Now this time the Flas SST chip was detected just Right, so I managed to patch firmware with the DVD key, without restart, flashed the xtreme binary to the drive, worked fine, no problems at all....

Now, What the hell happened whne the AMD chip was detected? was from my mobo? or is in the xbox drive too?

I am having a very similar problem can some one please help.  I have a ASUS K8V-X board with 2 sata ports.  I have already successfully flashed a couple samsungs using mtkflash from my floppy drive.  Now I am trying to boot up a Hitachi drive with my Xecuter Connectivity kit in windows but soon as hook the sata cable to my hitachi drive windows freezes up.  I have the red light on and eject switch up on the Xecuter thing just as directed.  My windows xp runs from the other sata port hard drive.  Any suggestions?

I get the same issues with hitachi or samsung when I try to boot into windows.  It seems as if its disabling my other sata port when I plug in the drive which causes my windows to freeze.
