44 solder points. Thats $1.34 per solder for every point. While Underdog's  chip looks like shite it probably easier to work with.

Installers wont have a problem with this chip. Its alot easier than doing an old DMS3 on a ps2 , those points really arent that bad.. you just have to know what you are doing. I agree with a previous post about all these guys taking commadore's work and profiting. At least Team X gave 'em props.

At least the quality of this chip is up to par with whats on the market for xbox1.

Ill take this over mad dog chip anyday.

what im worried about is people trying to solder all these points, getting pissed because its so troublesome, then throwing there dvd drive across the room and jumping up and down on their 360. Blah, what am i talking about.. its gonna be hilarious.

This will good for recovering from a bad flash (hitachi owners) and if you loose your drive-key and for more reliable DVD-R DL reading.

Plug&Play : DON’T NEED the extraction  of drive-key from the original firmware of drive on your console, only install the chip and the "unsigned" firmware on-board will be boot .

Firmware-drive UPGRADE: you can use an upgraded firmware for better performance of your dvd-drive to reading dvd-r DL support( ex: you should use on LG/Hitachi the firmware vers. 059  instead your original 047D or 46D).

Easy Reprogrammable Flash eprom:   the on-board flash eprom is mounted on a socket connector for an easy and clean remove in order to fast  reprogramming it.

It's got a lot of pluses if you're an Hitachi 047D owner, but for $60 I could just buy a Sammy and save my self the trouble. :/

What worries me more is the constant patching/unpatching; somewhere, something is going to mess up and you'll have a bad flash or otherwise brick your DVD drive (if I  am to understand the workings of this thing correctly). I'd just as soon have two drives and swap them out tbh.

What do you guys think will it work

Ill order a hitachi drive from ebay right now

Hmmm.... just looks like an old ps2 chip - once you get past 25-30 points to solder, who's counting anymore biggrin.gif
