It's late and I've tried everything but the surreal 64 that came with my slayer 2.6 install seems to be frozen. No matter what I do I launch it and I get to the first screen and the stupid white hand just sits on the settings and I cannot move it. Also no matter how I edit the .ini files I cannot get it to detect new roms. the only thing I havent figured out yet is how to run the default.xbe file as was mentioned in another post. Any help would be appreciated and yes I searched and looked through 3 pages of posts and nothing worked.

All I want to do is play some friggin Mario Kart

Hmm.
It shouldn't matter, but try a fresh install of a fresh Surreal (not one that came with anything as they usually have changed settings).
FDB v3 is out (a modified version with added features) and you can get it in the unofficial folder under surreal at Xbins (check the usual places link in my sig)
You'll then likley have to delete the settings for it in the tdata/udata folders, do a search for a thread that says which they are (don't know off hand).

Unless I'm confused, it's in Xbox/Apps/Emulators/Surreal/_unofficial (from memory).
Or perhaps I'm confusing it with something else for another app.

i meant fdb v3. Does anyone know what udata and tdata files to delete havnt been able to find any info using the search?

okay guys I deleted the copy of surreal from the xbox then copied over surreal 64 fdb v2 .

I then created a folder called roms under F:\Apps\Emulators\Surreal64.

I placed the rom mariokart64.7z in F:\Apps\Emulators\Surreal64\Roms

Then I renamed the rom path in surreal.ini on F: and E: to point to "F:\Apps\Emulators\Surreal64\Roms"

I then rebooted and launched surreal 64 during launch the screen flickers a bit then goes to the initial surreal 64 screen where there are menu option for settings , credit and quite with awhite mario hand over settings. This is as far as I get because my rom does not show up and I cannot move the hand.

What am I doing wrong???

Correct me if i am wrong but i dont think surreal supports 7z compresion format.
You will have to unzip first.

I extracted the file to "F:\Apps\Emulators\Surreal64\Roms\MarioKart64" It gave me a bunch of .z64 files and I still get nothing

A bunch of z64 files? should only be one file. (i think).

"roms/mariokart64" Does that mean you have created another folder in the roms directory just for mariokart? If so, just put the .z64 files into the roms directory. Wont work if you have directories within roms folder

Should work fine, if it doesn't find it after that then maybe there is a problem with the rom?

I moved the .z64 files to the "F:\Apps\Emulators\Surreal64\Roms" directory and still it just hangs at the opening screen and no roms show up

anyone with a 5530 ever manage to get the fdb versions to run?

The only one that works for me is the geunet version.

Really miss the analog and other goodies.

The first problem here is that you are using slayers.

Quit being lazy asses, download surreal from reputable sources, *configure it yourselves* and run it.
