it looks ok in the pics...but you really cant see the inside or up close

i still think that for under 300.00 you can have everything with a used cab including original controls...KI 2 cabs look nice because of the 2 player 6-button setup...plus they had big 29 in monitors...you always get a nice monitor with a used cab too....

Yea, I still think the "some assembly required" cabinets that X-Gaming is putting out are over priced for what you're getting. Like sammaza said, you can get a great jamma cabinet with a real arcade monitor for well under $1000. I contacted them about creating a stand for the X-Arcade joystick (two player version). That way people can take advantage of their larger televisions and/or won't have to deal with a heavy/bulky cabinet. I'm going to be building my own.

Ahhhhhhh I C.

I have heard nothing but good things about the X-Arcade console.

For my cabinet that I am going to be building, I am planning on using 4 of the Pelican Real Arcade controllers. They are already using actual arcade parts (buttons and stick), so no extra purchase there, and they work for Xbox (with communicator/memory port), PS2, Gamecube, & PC (adapting xbox to usb), so no issues if I do ever switch out the brains inside the cab.

I have one now, and have been nothing but satsified with it.

Those Pelican Arcade controllers look pretty sweet!  Do you have any in-progres pix of your Cabinet buildout?  please post some up, i'm definitly interested in following your project!

I'm already ahead of you wink.gif   My SF2:CE arcade has an Xbox inside of it.   The control panel is a modded X-Arcade, ie, it will play anything on any console, PC included.   The pictures I took were from MAMEoXv83b3 (Thanks Xport smile.gif )

Great to hear!  that is a beautiful cab BTW, glad you are enjoying it!

Anyone know if it's easy to setup a neo geo candy cab as an xbox arcade machine and play emulators, xbox games, etc on it?

I've been sitting on my empty cabinet for about a year. Finally bought a TV for it rather than a monitor. I have all the joysticks and buttons from Happ. So to those that have done it already, is there a physical button layout that works best?
I have a few 3rd party controllers that I'll operate on for the controls. Any schematics out there for controllers and buttons - like the thumb click someone mentioned earlier in this thread?

I was thinking of mapping the coin slot to a specific button combo, and make that the credits operation in mame. So you get into the game, then insert a coin to start playing that game.

What dimensions are the control layouts you folks are using? My cabinet is pretty narrow, I'm going to make the controller board a bit wider than the unit, in a slight V-wing shape so 2 players can play comfortably.

Thought, suggestions, links are appreciated!

My last project was the X-crate, which turned out pretty cool.
