Well since this thread seems to be going strong, why not add my little candy cab. It's not a coverted cab or an xbox emu cab (although it could be done). This one is a dedicated Neo-Geo MVS cabinet.

Here's a front shot of my Neo25 Candy Cab

Here's a shot of it in the dark showing off the lighted marquee.

I recently purchased a Unibios2.0 chip for the mobo. Heres a shot of the cab running it (nothing new but it was cool as hell to me)

Finally here is a shot of my MVS collection (with a few of my AES carts at the bottom).

Those boxes that hold my cart are called "Shock Boxes" and I designed the majority of the inserts for them. Thats pretty much what ive been doing lately.

Damn i need some of them shockboxes.. but it would cost me a fortune to import to europe mad.gif

I'd need around forty shockboxes..

Would a Candy Cab be okay for a guy whose 6'1"?

Why not it's not like you would be playing the thing standing up anyway. Candy cabs are sweet but they are really short and ment to be played while sitting.

I saw a cool cab that a guy made online somwhere. It wasn't a candy cab but it was set up so that the screen was built to rotate. On the side of the cabinet he had a small wheel that stuck out that he could turn and it would rotate the screen to allow it to be vertical or horizontal with little effort. The candy cabs look to be made out of metal and have a much larger screen so I would think a mod like that would pretty much be out of the question and looked complicated on a normal wood stand up cab.

I really don't understand the point of an xbox cocktail cabnet...

btw, is it possible to use one of those as a dinner table? Always dreamed of doing that...

Mine is up and running, just need to do some finishing touches (bezel around the monitor, etc...).  I'm using a PC to run MAME and I have an x2vga for when I feel like hooking my xbox up for the fighters/racers.  I can interface all the controls with the xbox just fine, I used a x-arcade byoac keyboard encoder for this reason.

It's not finished yet, due to cold crappy weather, but here are some work in progress pics of mine.
