all vertical games are made for vertical monitors....just normal monitor rotated 90 degrees....just for an example....take a vertical mameox rom and play it with screen rotated 90 degrees in mameox settings....youll se so much more detail ,...they way theyre made for arcades....when we play  vertical games on horizontal monitor you can either cut off both sides like we usually do or stretch the image ...but that looks horrible

your right...its just SqUiShed so you dont get good pixel detail....but games like shakigimi 1,2 in vertical mode look so much better...so do all of FBAxxx "others" roms

psicyo games all look amazing in rotated mode

I wonder if it would be possible to get an actual topic forum for arcades. I would like to create a cab. I just bought the gamster joystick to hack and the price of joysticks are pretty good now on ebay. Do you think there is enough interest to create a new topic forum to create arcade cabs and anything dealin with maming or jamma?

Great idea.

My friend has a gutted Candy cabinet w/o monitor. It probably weighs around 30-40lbs. Add the monitor and it'll probably be around 60-90 lbs depending on the size.

hey beefjerkey here is a diagram to make the AMP yourself but this is UNTESTED --->

http://www.mameworld...a/hardware.html

(its about 1\2 way down the page)

but if i were you i would just spend the 15.00 for ultimarc.com ' s AMP

I would love to moderate the ARCADE FORUMS

it should  be called XBOX\JAMMA forum

Damn, that sounds NICE. That would be perfect for my small apartment. Light and relativetly small, compared to the size of my desk and computer, it's only a bit larger. Anyone know where to find more information on candy cabs, like their history, where to buy them used and new, how to hook them up to a xbox for mame etc or a computer and so on? They sound perfect.

How heavy are normal arcade machines anyways? I heard neo geos go for 300 lbs?

my original neogeo cab wieghs ALOT.....

http://www.pixagogo.com/4126245911

like 150-200 lbs

you can get the candy cabs from many different sources...just google for "candy neogeo"

when ultimarc comes out with the Xbox I-pac adapter it will be so simple to convert a Jamma cab to xbox controlls, but ive already opened 2 madcatz gamepads and directly soldered to the buttons i want...but for new builds and gutting existing cabs this is gonna be nice

Hmm, I never knew you could rotate the rom so you can see the whole thing, I always wondered why both sides were cut off, you can do this for each rom and not them all?
