Here's my boXcade project...working on the custom menu system right now.  The  website documents a conversion of a PC MAME cabinet to an XBox cabinet.

I used several tricks like a RF ON/OFF switch, so I don't have to open the cab each time to turn it on; and a U3100 arcade monitor with a x2vga adaptor.  The controls are an xarcade DIY board

I checked out your site; your boXcade is pretty slick!

A couple of ideas you might like:
I don't know how many power switches you've got total, but you can get multiadapters (like standard 4 way extension leads), that have a master plug socket which you could plug the Xbox into and then plug the other STufF into the "slave" sockets and when you (remotely) turn on your Xbox, the the other STufF would be turned on too.
Sorry for that long explaination, but I didn't know how else to write it.

Also, you've only listed Crazy Taxi 3 (apart from gun games) to put on there, how about Marvel Vs Capcom 2, Guilty Gear XX #Reload, Capcom Vs SNK 2 and Dead Or Alive 3?
If you like puzzle and or shooting games in arcades, try getting hold of Shikigami No Shiro (1, 2 or Evolution) for a good vertical shooting game and Puyo Pop Fever for a fun and very bright puzzle game.

personally, i prefer shikigami 1 over 2 or evo.
2 and evo just seemed too generic.

I didn't like how you can't get upgraded in 2, even though you start out really powerful, it's nice to get more powerful in shooting games.

Anyway, if you like Shikigami No Shiro, have you played Esp Ra De?
It's basically Shikigami No Shiro in 2D, you can play it in FBAx(xx).

The enemies and artwork in Esp Ra De are better than in Shikigami No Shiro too (in my opinion). Getting used to the secondary attack in Esp Ra De took me a while though, whereas in Shiki I picked it up straight away.

Damn, where did you get that Dreamcast cabinet? It rules. I didn't know they existed. Is that what they put into the stores to showcase Sega or...?

ohhhh MAN  i like those neogeo "candy" cabs like your dreamcast one....i can get them here in the city but they want 450.00 for just 1 cab...but theyre NIIICE for home use...now this thread is going where i wanted to see it!!!!! lotsa cabs!

man i want one ...just for vertical shooters...i would rotate the screen and pull every mame rom that is vertical and seperate it and put it on the candy cab....and then have all my regular roms on the neogeo cab

dreaming....

biggrin.gif

side note :

just found the spot to solder to on the xbox matcatz pad for the R-thumbstick press smile.gif

i wired it to the "TEST" button in the original cab inside the coindoor...and i wired IGR to the "SERVICE" switch that was also inside the coindoor....so now when you open the coindoor you have "TEST" \ "RESET" right inside on the original buttons...

i can make a diagram of this point if anyone else cares....

best signal from xbox is 640x480 at 31khz

now look at this diagram...

http://www.gamesx.co...inouts/xbox.htm

at the bottom you see VGA (31Kz) with a line through it....thats what you want...so i would build the cable that way and get H\V sync from pins 4, and 16  and twist them together and attach to the H (pin 13) on your VGA end...

I bet it will look sweet

i would use Ava as a dash if i were you just because i know it supports high res and progressive scan wich you will be getting...

you may also want to add a 5Volt video amp found here -- >

http://ultimarc.com/vidamp.html

if your colors arent bright enough for you you can always AMP `em  but I think your monitor can handle 5Volt s of RGB

but im pretty sure youll be set without one...thats a nice monitor and probably has an internal AMP

but you can always get one later...

first step is to build your cable
