HOLY SHITS!!!!

awesome work!

Your inside layout is identical to my layout inside the neogeo MVS-2
except i got a pioneer dvd-rom slot loading drive and mounted it flush with the cab just where the memory card slot is...i just extended the memory card slot to the right and left about 2 inches on either side....so the cab still looks original ...you cant tell that there has been any alterations.

you have your xbox and hard drive seperated just like me also.  I found this is the best way to avoid heating.  But i also removed the xbox fan power from the mobo and ran it straight to a 5V line off of my cab power supply wich like a pc power supply has many extra 5V and 12V lines.

This way i know that the xbox is always getting cooled ...

I know this is for Dreamcast (there are also Xbox versions available, but they play far fewer games) but would it be a good, simple alternative to buying the Ipac + adapters and such?

Why would you use your keyboard to play your xbox like an arcade? Why not use real arcade controls?

I see no mention of using a keyboard for Xbox.
Did you click the link?

I have it wired so that I can use Xbox, PS2, and Gamecube. I also have an Xbox to USB adapter if I wanted to use my PC. I only have one side done at the moment.

I'm not using a keyboard.  I'm in the process of hacking 2 reflex sticks for my control panel.  It is an old Robocop cab that I am turning into an xbox cab.

Thanks for the info, Slowmaz.  I was debating making my own cable but will wait the week for this one.  Is that all that I am going to need?  I have an old 19 inch monitor that doesn't have the VGA connector.  I plan on using the cable from ultimarc to connect the arcade monitor directly to the xbox.  That should work, right?

Did you even read my post?

If a person already has a cabinet built for a PC, then it would be stupid to replace the i-pac that is most likely already in there, when an adapter can be bought to work with it.

Read a little further down, and you will also see that I mentioned, that if you are starting fresh and an Xbox is the cab priority, then hacking an Xbox controller would be the way to go.

i think i've posted a pic of this before.  i'm looking for suggestions on what i should keep or change.  i made the control box so i could remove the real arcade sticks and use on my other systems, but am now going to disassemble them and build a proper box.  what materials have you all used for your control boxes?  how did you get a glossy surface on the top?

i'm wondering about the bezel i made.  should i keep it or go with a straight black one?
