That is avalaunch.

Nice cab. I will post pics of mine once I get it built in the next few weeks. Bought the tv for it already, and I hope to be getting the cash for the actual cab materials soon.

I am going to make a 4 player model though. Kids love playing the oldschool Ninja Turtles with me. smile.gif

yeah its ava .49.1

my own skins...

definately post some shots when you finish....why dont you just get a used arcade machine that you like and gut it?

its alot easier and youll like the picture you get on a real RGB monitor ALOT more

you can get cabs here -->  http://www.superauctions.com (usually about 150.00 bucks)

did you go to one of the auctions in person and bid/win that neo-geo cab or did you buy it online?

also for $150.00 did that come with a monitor?

i used to droll over having a mame cabinet a few years ago i remember hanaho games made a really cool one, but im sure there are many more nowdays

but that one you have there is really cool i would love to do somthing like that, awesome work :)

btw just wondering what are the specs on the xbox you have in there? is it a 128mb ram upgrade or anything like that?

no shit... sammaza your post on a MAME arcade web page i found googling one day was what made me hack my first xbox!!

I have a old asteroids cabinet in my garage that i have been tyring to figure out how to get a 4player button console into.

anyone have any good ideas or tips on a xbox cabinet? links? i worked on it a log a while back but everything is made for the PC its harder to get buttons set up for a 4p xbox (i am jsut short of hackign 4 controllers)

i know there is the the xarcade system but has anyone had any other luck with 4player arcade systems and the xbox... also what about a controle system that would allow a switch to xbox controllers or a cool system where you can have halo arcade style?  <

yeah...you just go there before the auction starts and you can test everything...you shuld always have a big extension cord ready to go cause they are held inside big arenas...like state fairgrounds....

last time i got tekken 4, marvel vs. street fighter CPS-2, and the neogeo cab for 500.00

tekken 4 made about 1200.00 in the time i had it since then...i sold marvel vs. street fighter for 450.00 and kept neogeo at home to gut out .. it had a 2 slot neogeo MVS system in it...sold that for 75.00

but 99% of everything at the auction is fully working most good\mint cond.

its fun...

if you go and bring 500.00 you will probably walk away with at least 2 cabs...

I always have my eye out for a mint KI 2 cab

I kept Tekken 4 at home for a while but i miss it now...but its out making daddy his money...dam gotta keep pimpin tekken4 out...its a shame to exploit a kick ass cab on the streets...lol

tekken 4 uses the namco system 248 ...its basically a PS2 but the cool thing is that your system 248 plays dvd-r like the ps2 does without a mod so if you get tekken 4 on system 248 you just go and burn the other 20 system 248 games like soul calibur 2 arcade and others...its a very nice cab system to pick up...IMO

How do you go about getting an arcade route, or as you call it, pimping out Tekken 4?  I've wanted to do that for quite some time here in my area (a bunch of small towns with little variety in terms of arcade games)...Seems like a good way to make money on the side.  <

tekken4 for that cheap dood thats ill,i think im going to hit up one of the auctions and pick up a game, that would just be dope to get tekken4 for that cheap

also would you happen to have any info on how to convert the xbox video out into an arcade monitor or could you recomend the best ones to look for in terms of quality so i dont fuck up and get somthing thats not worth it because i would much rather have a real arcade monitor then a computer monitor in the cab.

thanks again for all the great info btw that cab you got is gangsta smile.gif

also what are the the specs on the xbox in your neo-geo cab and was it hard to get working with the neo-geo cab and monitor, also what made you want to mod out the neo-geo and not the marvel vs capcom, youd think with the six button config youd have more options insted of the 4 neo-geo buttons?

yeah its just standard xbox no mods...the data found on the TSOP is just a little different than when it left the MS factory smile.gif

As for the video...

look at this--> http://www.gamesx.co...inouts/xbox.htm

you want to get SCART (15 kHz RGB)...you can see at the bottom of the page that you can get SCART (15 kHz RGB) by conecting pins 17,18,19 to pins 5,6,7

so you are "grounding" those pins...by grounding those you are telling the xbox when it boots to do straight RGB at arcade refresh rates...(do not confuse this with just buying a xbox SCART cable) ...its different

So, once you have set your SCART (15 kHz RGB) mode you can see that V,R,G,B,Gnd are on pins 24,22,11,9,8 respectively...these wires will go directly to your arcade monitor...

V=composite sync
R=Red
G=Green
B=Blue
Gnd=Ground

also, for each color(r,g,b ) there is a Gnd for each...you will twist all 3 Gnds for color to the main (pin 8) Ground...and so 4 combined grounds go to your arcade monitor ground.

It may sound complicated but ....well it is...

thats why I have a special place in my heart for Xport and Gogo...when they release new shit my cab just lights up....

(SIDE NOTE)

the xbox only outputs a 1Volt signal on each color R,G,B   ... all arcade PCB's output a 5Volt signal....so you want to AMPLIFY the R,G,B after it leaves the xbox but before it hits the monitor....luckily there is a place that makes just such a video amp for 15.00$   YEAHHHHH!!!!   it brings the RGB output to perfect arcade Voltages ...it is powered by the original power supply already in my cab...you will be blown away when you see the xbox pumping 5Volts RGB....colors are vivid and crisp more than any hdTV ive seen...arcade PCB's are all designed to output 5volts to draw players into arcades with bright colors and flashy pictures...

here is where i got mine

http://ultimarc.com/vidamp.html

15.00 shipped

and he included a VGA extension cable that i imediately cut in half and used to make my video cable like this -->

http://xbox-scene.co...s/vga-cable.php

that is a great guide that i should have mentioned earlier...i made my cable the same way as that VGA cable but just different mode setting by grounding pins 17,18,19 to pins 5,6,7  but i still end up with female VGA connector to connect to the video AMP

I used the VGA pinout info on near the BOTTOM of this page to know where all my xbox wires should go as they enter the AMP-->

http://ultimarc.com/monfaq.html

WARNING!!!!!!!!

muhaha.gif  muhaha.gif  muhaha.gif  muhaha.gif  muhaha.gif  muhaha.gif  muhaha.gif

Arcade monitors EVEN WHEN UNPLUGGED can retain very high voltages...please be careful when messing around with them and if you touch the wrong thing and end up a pile of gamer dust then its not my fault!!!!!!!!!!!

k?

beerchug.gif

maybe this should go in the tutorial section....

Well after reading this you've guys have inspired me to create my own at home arcade setup.  I dont plan on using the XBOX but a PC.   I just bought a arcade cabinet that looks closely like the arcade game TMNT 4 player one .  Its got a 14inch monitor which I plan to swap out as well the current controls.  My question now is does anyone know of any place that builds custom controls for arcade cabinets?    <

PC will be great also ....if I were you i would get this Vid card for PC and the video AMP as well

http://ultimarc.com/avgainf.html

along with the video AMP you will be PIMPING!!!!!!

http://ultimarc.com/vidamp.html

plus that card outputs the 5Volt signal on Pin 9 so you wont need to power the AMP seperately...just plug and play...

very nice
