Roms are roms. They'll work for any emulator as long as that emulators designed to play them.

You can run arcade roms on any version of mame whether it be mame32, mameox, or whatever.

So no, there's not specific "mame ox" format for arcade roms. The roms you have already will do fine.

you don't port roms. you port the emulator that plays the roms. as someone already said, roms are roms. mame plays arcade roms and so do the various ports of it.

Just ensure you use the correct version of the rom set for the emulator you are using. e.g. Mame-o-x is now using the .84 roms set and mamex used .61 or something much older which I cannot currently recall).

after you load romcenter at the top of the program is a list you can go through for each emulator to check your roms.

If you need new or more dat files go to romcenters website then to arcade and download the dats.

Put the zipped dat files in the datas file in the romcenter folder in programs and reload then run mame version .84 or .85 i think is the newest one.

click on the folder icon and find the file were your mame roms are it should scan and take a look at the roms if they are green then they will work yellow usally is diffrent sets or needs fixing and red is the roms that that are bad and have been updated and you need to get them again for the newest version.

Love romcenter

Oh yeah, I just spent the last couple days updating my old .80 set to .84 and romcenter made it pretty easy.  I tried using clrmamepro, but it just didn't seem as user friendly.  Romcenter is definitely a necessity when trying to sort through 5000 roms :).
