No one knows $hit about how LIVE will be checking this, or even if it ever will, so saying anything about "disabling for LIVE" is complete B.S.

Well, until live can sneak a miniture camera into your case through CAT5 and an RJ45 connecter, I really don't see how they can detect this?  If it is able to boot up normally with the original firmware, then there is no way to detect it unless you connect to live while using the hacked firmware.  The way this chip seems to work, is that when you turn on the 360 using the controller, it sends an electrical signal through the pcb, which bypasses all of the hacked stuff.  I don't believe it would ever load anything hacked using this method, thus being undetectable.

ok so how about detecting it while you're offline as well..and if it notices a hacked firmware...save a note of it somewhere..and then when u log back online..it sends it to ms servers..boom bam goodbye  ph34r.gif  ..just a thought

is anyone else tired of the..
"atleast progress is being made" argument? someone point out WHERE it's being made. df mods and o.d.d are done with and working. end of progress on that end. the only purpose this serves is not flashing over and over.
we can boot off our own media. fantastic; now i think 'progress' needs to move in the direction of booting unsigned code. not remaking the same craptastic chip over and over again. everyone is hung up on these stupid chips, hindering the so called 'progress' into a REAL worthy xbox360 scene.

this is my assumption, since in the diagram it shows that you solder one wire to the eject button and one to the power button and both to the pcb, and not a third. its likely that the one soldered to the eject button causes the pcb to boot a specific FW when pushed and a different one for the power button, and since no button on the box is pushed when you use the controller to power on then the pcb gets no signal at all and the box just boots the regular FW uninterupted

Removing the epoxy isn't hard at all, as long as you have some non-static freeze spray and a hot air gun, but after going through phases of cold-hot-cold-hot the chip most likely would not be functional (corrupt), but I had removed my sst chip anyways. If you don't have any epoxy..lucky you. tongue.gif

hey'd work b ut the on/off from BT or whatever the point was called, would give me problems and the chip would always stay on

I so agree,  That stupid BT point sucked so bad.    and honestly I could never make quick solder work either.   and the pin header was only for programming that was totaly gay.

btw if anyone wants to make money off the 360 dvd hack, they should install diy mods in peoples xboxes,
those sst chips are dead cheap by the dozen. add some switches and maybe even a 3 coloured LED, and there ya go =D

yes, believe the price, that is not becuase thye want to make a tonne of money oin that product.
i was in contact with the distributor of them around 1 month ago (alladin 360), i had those diagrams before
but when they told me the costs, i was shocked as well.  and there is nothing for the hitachi.

And I am even shocked even more at the Global360 modchip pricing too.  its high as well.

these fuckin stupid companies, has no1 in these cheap shops noticed that the regular person cannot remove that epoxy without ruining the chip?  This point as been made time and time again, and im a bit pissed at the fact that these people who run these chop shops will tell the average person that they can do it.  Or lack there of telling them the point that the epoxy is even there.  FUCKIN LOSERS!

If u want to buy this chip, rather go buy a new drive(dev kit drive) and solder it to that!  WAIT!  NEWS FLASH, go buy a new drive and FUCKIN FLASH THAT WITH YER KEY AND THE XTREME BIOS!  omg, 75$ u dont have to use yer drive as a guinee(however spelled) pig  and u can still play yer own backups without these cheap mods.

I know these chop shops are made to get a quick buck, but at inexperienced users expense?  FUCK N A, go walk the street vendors of new york for 5 minutes!

thats pretty slick...now the question is how long will it be before the make a tri firmware chip...

Firmware 1: Original
Firmware 2: Backups
Firmware 3: Ripping

Then it will only come that they rip through the network adapter...This says dream cast and cube all over it again.....SIGH....There is no use for this product.

blink.gif I think I've landed in the land of moron... or is this just retardville???
Who's the moron who's gonna attach a chip with stock firmware? and the gamecube has a viable scene. It's nowhere near what the xbox offers but it's more then just backups.

As for MR. Walk the Streets of N.Y., all I can say is you've taken this years crown for Complete Jackass. I know it's only July but the competition is over. How many people in the world live in N.Y, N.Y? and of those people living in N.Y, N.Y how many do you suppose are selling chopped up Dev kits?? I mean are there like 3 on every corner? Idiots get ripped off every day.

Doesn't anyone realize that the kiosk disc is now playable again? and that other kiosk discs are too? In the short time that was around people were finding all types of stuff they could do with it. Progress is coming for the 360. Every one's seen the video of Ava running on the 360. Even if the 360 only runs unsigned xbox stuff, new apps can be written. The real goods will be once linux is running. Untill then, these "mod chips" are
the best thing going for the 360. But the prices are a little out of hand.

Gotta agree. Designing a lame PCB and adding one preflashed SST chip is MUCH MUCH easier than to develop ANYTHING really useful. Of course the SST chip contains someone else's hacked fw, so Aladdin team did not do that much, but grab the money. biggrin.gif biggrin.gif How many of these very same chips are coming in the following weeks ?   wink.gif
