Feel free to replace the version in Hammer with this improved one!

I finally got to test this on a spare sammy today.

I get the following errors:

When performing the Backup, patch and create xtreme fw step (step 1)

It backs up fine 100%, then on the second step I get "Load error: No DPMI Get csdpmi*.zip
C:\Firmware\VIA
Press any key to continue

(when trying to create xtreme.bin with the new patch utility.)

Then continues to step 3 - Creates xtrm0800 fine with ppf patcher fine.

Then I try to use the restore original fw (option D) and I get Updating 00%  Error Input File Mismatched.

The drive goes dead until I use another spare sammy to hotswap and then recover.

If any one has any inputs or wants me to try something else let me know.  I got a couple sammys to screw with.

go and buy a 32mb stick for about $1...they are free in cereal boxes lol.

If you "Think" its worth not checking your motherboard manual or website...then flash away (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I get a "cant run in dos" error with the patch command from Option "A", creating Extreme Firmware. Along with the same error mentioned above about needing some zip file.

CODE
Load error: no DPMI - Get csdpmi*.zip

CODE
patch -p orig.bin xtreme.bin

So I ran that command in windows, and sure enough, it worked. So how do we get the patch.exe to run in dos?

Hmm found out some info.

5.5. What is CSDPMI*B.ZIP and why do I need it?
If you use MS-DOS outside of Windows and try to use GNU sed v1.18    or 3.02, you may encounter the following error message:

        no DPMI - Get csdpmi*b.zip
"DPMI" stands for DOS Protected Mode Interface; it's basically a    means of running DOS in Protected Mode (as opposed to Real Mode),    which allows programs to share resources in extended memory without    conflicting with one another. Running HIMEM.SYS and EMM386.EXE is    not enough. The "CSDPMI*B.ZIP" refers to files written by Charles    Sandmann to provide DPMI services for 32-bit computers (i.e.,    386SX, 386DX, 486SX, etc.). Download the binary file (the source    code is also available):

        http://www.delorie.com/djgpp/dl/ofc/simtel...sc/csdpmi5b.zip  # binaries
       http://www.delorie.com/djgpp/dl/ofc/simtel...sc/csdpmi5s.zip  # source
       ftp://ftp.cdrom.com/pub/simtelnet/gnu/djg...sc/csdpmi5b.zip # binaries
       ftp://ftp.cdrom.com/pub/simtelnet/gnu/djg...sc/csdpmi5s.zip # source
and extract CWSDPMI.EXE, CWSDPR0.EXE and CWSPARAM.EXE from the ZIP    file. Put all 3 CWS*.EXE files in the same directory as GSED.EXE    and you're all set.

Edit: I tested it, still got the "Cant run in Dos Error", so the extreme firmware was not created in dos.

Got the same problem, I put the files in the zip file in the same dir as the program and booted the usb again. It made a extreme.bin file this time (was asking for some .swp file but doesnt seem to be needed). Choosed 3 and it flashed the samsung with no problems after that. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Update..

CWSPARAM "" disables the .swp file...
