It did do something.

I got it to read the firmware fine it just won't write it back.

Like I said earlier, it erases the drives firmware before it writes back.

Now the drive does not work because the firmware has been erased.

So you have a backup copy of your firmware from the read right??  What size is it?  IS it only 256K?

Good just trying to cover the basics.

As people have said try a different floppy because you are getting a read error.

You have all your other devices unplugged DVD-Rom, IDE Hard Drives, etc?

All other devices are disabled in the bios?

Your floppy contains the files mtkflash.exe mtkflash.typ and your modified xtreme.bin?

chill bro, i had the same problem, i unplugged all my drives except floppy and xbox 360, here was my proccess when i was in your shoes, i TEMPORARLY had the dvd drive plugged into xbox 360 but no SATA to the 360 mainboard, that let me boot up. But To solve the bad flash, i made sure everything was cool on the computer, made sure i was injecting everything write, i mean what it had to do with my marriage code, then  i went to MTKFLASH and i did the sequnce, before i hit enter to enter the command "mtkflash w /m hack.bin" i turned on the 360, and waited 1 second, then hit enter, then hit 1 when it prompted, then it recovered with the new flash, and everything worked, because MTKFLASH messed up while i was trying to get it to work. I hope this helps.  pop.gif

EDIT: while i was reflashing to the hacked xtreme firmware, i renamed it ORIG.bin, just make sure to not confuse yourself. I jus did it for my own confusing sake. But now my 360 is all good.

Yep it's an Initio card!

Man i feel much better now that i know it's probably the card.

I ordered the SY-VIA-150R ($18.99) from Newegg yesterday.
Tracking says delivery on monday.

I was sure the Initio would work with the Sammy since it worked
flawless with my Hitachi, but maybe it a Dos or MTKflash issue.
