Team Underdog released a picture of their NME-360(info) device, a chip (4 cables for Toshiba-Samsung drive, 11 wires for the Hitachi/LG) that will allow to patch the DVD firmware of the Xbox 360 drive 'on-the-fly' when needed:

I find there custom shrink wrap over their components more interesting then the chip itself.

Its a funny people...This is nifty   (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

What it looks like is irrelevant to me. I want to see install diagrams and see some test results on boot rate boot failure rate etc

Yea some more info would be great.  Also I'd like to know how many banks there are & if I can have (stock, hacked, ripper) bios's.  That would be awesome.

If all it does is inject the modified code when needed then it probably doesn't have any 'banks', and it probably isn't customizable at all.  Maybe there will be a way to update via PC so it can work with future firmware.

still a lot of questions but it is nice to see someone make good on there promise of "more info to come" in a timely manner! I wonder if the chip will have a method to update to work with the new Philips VAD6037/21 Drive?

even if it is the dvd firmware hack that requires soldering to work I still give kudos to Team Underdog for keeping good on their word! biggrin.gif

I agree with that. the Print looks real cheapo. Depends on target price I suppose. The cover over that SST chip is slightly overkill. Suppose if it works well nobody will care

Reminds me of how the Enigma chip worked for original Xbox!
