100% Success W Hitachi 47d + Pioneer 111d! Finally!
« on: June 22, 2006, 12:00:00 AM »

ok, i finally got 100% booting with no tricks etc

using verbatims burnt at 8x, all you have to do is turn the box off for atleast 20 seconds before turning it on (with the game in it) - 15 seconds, and i get open tray

ive timed 20 second gaps over and over again with 100% success, no HDTV trick or nothing, just straight booting!

thanks so much for everyones help, my samsungs have been great but im glad to find a 100% working solution for my friends xbox!!

if you have hitachi and cant get it to work 100%, get the pioneer 111D at bestbuy or online. bestbuy is selling it as the 750BKP or something, but once you open it, its the 111D - its $80 there and only $35 on newegg, but i needed mine today (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

he's probably using the stock firmware. i am using the latest 1.23 from their website.

DONT WORRY ABOUT BIT SETTING! its automatic even if DVDinfo says it doesnt support it.

- just rip your games properly
- burn with cloneCD
- put game inside and turn off console for 20 seconds or more
- turn system on with power button
- ENJOY your back up!

Guys,

There are two versions of this Pioneer 111 drive available, the 111D and the 111 Multiwriter which includes DVD-RAM writing support. I have two NEC drives which have the DVD-RAM capability at the moment, and if I was going to replace one of them for the Pioneer I'd obviously be after the DVR-111 Multiwriter - and not the 111D.

Anyone burned backups with the 111 Multiwriter? I'd b interested in the results...

i never updated the firmware, or changed the bitsetting. i loaded dvd info pro and it was already set. burning w clonecd. the thing you MUST remeber is

- turn box on, eject tray, turn box off for 20 SECONDS -it MUST be 20 seconds, 15 seconds, and you get open tray. when you switch games you MUST put the game in, turn the 360 off, and again wait ATLEAST 20 seconds!

I experienced the same thing, but I didn't come to the 20 second conclusion like you did.  good job!  I got really frustrated because none of my discs were being read by the 360, so I gave up and went to sleep.  When I got up (obviously it had been 20 seconds since turning it off) I tried one last time and sure enough it worked no problem. smile.gif

Also using the 111d with stock firmware 1.06 and verbatim discs and cloneCD.
