Hitachi-lg And Sata Chipset Compatibility Thread
« on: June 17, 2006, 08:22:00 AM »

I see a lot of people starting new threads about this lately, so I figured it would be a good idea to make a thread where everybody could post their tested working setups and results. This way it can be confined to a single, easy to understand thread instead of having it scattered all over the place.

So, moving on... please post the following information:

a.) Is your controller onboard or PCI?
b.) What chipset?
c.) Mode-B with SLAX or did you have to cross wires?
d.) Any additional notes that you feel are relevant.

If enough information is posted in this thread, I'll probably put a chart together and attach it to this post to make things even easier for everyone (and give you a place to point the noobs to).

Have fun...

MBD - Intel D915GAV
Chipset - Intel 915G
ModeB - X-wried

Tried Slax, but didn't work. Wierd as SATA is ICH5, and should be compatible!

VIA 6421L PCI card with RAID
Cross wire method
ONLY works if I start windows up first, then plug in SATA cable and do the cross wire method. Also if I want to put my drive into mode B again without restarting my computer I have to disable then enable the SATA card.
