Geebees Modified Bat Files - V1.1
« on: June 16, 2006, 01:06:00 AM »

These make flashing SAFER.

NEW: Separate bat file for backing up, flashing and restoring.
NEW: Makes a copy of orig.bin in C: for you to move somewhere SAFE (before you flash please)
NEW: Adds pauses after flashsec commands ...seems the commands can be to fast for the drive.

Nothing copyrighted in these files: 47d1.1-geeb Download

Hope these are OK...let me know!

Need a bit of clarification.

Geebees flash.bat file is used in place of xtreme.bat file in the firmware release.  As a result your original firmware is backed-up (utilizing the backup.bat provided??) and the hacked firmware flashed onto the drive.  Is this done as a single process, or is their a pause between the backing up and flashing processes (which would allow you to move your original firmware copy somewhere safe before flashing as Geebee recommends)?

Or am I wrong and you use the backup.bat Geebee has provided to backup your firmware prior to using flash.bat (if this is the correct procedure what is the proper command line required).

Just a bit confused, and wanting to be 100% confident of procedure before diving into this.

BTW, thanks Geebee for these tools and the very helpful manuals you keep cranking out  beerchug.gif

If you open the bat files in notepad you can see exactly what the files do, no need to ask. If you question anything, compare it to the xtreme.bat

Thanks.  I did not know that you could open bat files with notepad.  This helps to clarify things quite nicely.  Learn something new every day.

So are these new geebs .bat files rebuilt from the new 47 1.1 xtreme firmware released by commodore. Supposedly the 1.1 commodore firware release added increased media compatability. So I guess my question is does geebs release have the increased media compatibility and safer flash sequence or does it just have the a safer flash sequence.

This is a .bat file, not the firmware itself.  This .bat file is compatible with the 1.1 release of the xtreme firmware.  The .bat file is basically a "script" that runs certain commands to make flashing the drive easier.  You just use it instead of the .bat file provided with commodore's release.

Power on 360 with game in and hd off.A few seconds after you see the xbox logo snap the hd back on it will restart and the backup will load.Works for me every time.
