Still a no-go for me. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)   The two backups I made work on my friends Samsung.  Lucky him.   I guess that's what I get for buying on launch day, lol. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Here's my specs for anyone that cares.
Drive:  Hitachi 47DJ
Firmware:  1.1, Didn't work with 1.0 either
Burner:  LG GSA-4167B
Media:  Verbatim DVD+R DL Item #95014(easily searched in Google)
Speed:  2.4x on the first burn, 1x on the second(both worked in friend's Samsung, not in my Hitachi)

Gonna go buy a pack of Memorex and a pack of TDK media tomorrow and see if it makes a difference.  Anyone tried with DVD+RW DL or DVD-R DL?

Edit:  One thing I did notice is that it tries for about 7 seconds longer before it gives up and gives me the DDE.

I think with all the coasters and hassles would be better to invest in a samsung drive ..Hitachi is a waste of time.......

i think its just an issue that needs worked out.. seems pioneer burners are doing fine... time will tell, its only day 1.

For those having trouble with certain brands of DVD+R DL, have you tried burning a DVD movie to one? Does it work?

I burned a few DVD Movies to RiDisc DVD+R DL which read fine in my Hitachi drive. It might be worth trying as it could just be the media...

Yeah, I burned a movie to the same kind of DVD+R DL as the game I burned.  The movie worked, but the game did not, which worked in my friend's flashed Samsung.

Monday is the big day for me too, have a pioneer 109 drive, have about  6 verbs to test ready for the f/w burnt at 1x.
