Pal Iso Vs. Ntsc Iso.... Difference Besides Ss ?
« on: June 09, 2006, 02:00:00 AM »

Hey guys,

got a short question.

Besides the video factor (PAL/NTSC) and the different security sectors what else is different if u have an PAL ISO and an NTSC iso of the SAME game ?

Is it possible to apply NTSC SS to a Pal iso and so make it playable on NTSC machines (of course both iso's from the same game) ?

Is the Layerbreak ALWAYS 1913760 for each 360 game ?

There is no general answer to this.  It's not uncommon for the PAL edition to contain localised content for the rest of Europe also.  This can include translated graphics, re-recorded voice recordings, etc.  Consequently, the game's engine needs to be able to query the consoles language settings, and choose the correct media files, etc. - making the game engine different also.

Thus a PAL disk can be very different to its NTSC cousin.

You probably wouldnt be able to just change the SS to the NTSC one just like that, and again since the region coding is inside the executable, and also since the exectuables are signed and any attempt to change them will break the signature. I think M$ may just be a bit smarter than that  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) . And im sure its even more complicated than that. M$ learnt their lesson from xbox 1.

I have a short answer.
You can't change the region of a game or play region locked games on a console from a different region to the game. Your back up will always work because you will be ripping it from the original you bought (same region)
This has been covered multiple times.
