Xbox 1 Xtreme Backups For 360
« on: June 04, 2006, 12:56:00 AM »

I might get flamed for this, but all I really want is an explanation.

Commodore's firmware hack for the original Xbox's Samsung Drive required double-layer discs because the SS is read from Layer 1 (the second layer).

The Xbox 360 Xtreme firmware reads the SS from Layer 0 (the first layer).

Now, I don't know of an Xbox 360 game that is single layer, but has anybody tried making an Xtreme raw dump of a small Xbox game (like, really small, the kind that can be burned to CDs), then burning this to a single layer disc?  If the raw data is small enough to fit on a single-layer disc, and the firmware is reading the SS from the first layer, couldn't an Xbox 1 Xtreme backup boot from a single layer disc?  Or a 360 backup for that matter, if it were small enough.

Is my logic flawed?  If so, please explain.  Thanks.
