i have tried to help a lot of people that are having trouble with this card, I'm pretty sure that most of them have gotten it to work (as the 6421l chipset was posted in the compatibility list as working)

It looks like the exact same one I used. Funny thing is it only works without disconnecting all ide devices. Which is actually good so I don't have to disasemble my pc every time and I can just stick the sata cable in the back port.

Was this MTKflash you had available the same as MTKFLASHvia.zip? The same flash as for the L chipset or no? I just got my card wanted to get all the proper files together before I start rebooting

I must be an idiot because I just bought SYba VIA 150 R with the Via VT6421 chipset and I can not get this drive to detect.  I have left the drive on when booting, off when booting,  with and without my SATA hard drive connected, etc, etc,

I used MTKFLASHVIA and hexedited the device ID myself.  The ports are not 7 apart so I left them alone.

Anything else to try? If the drive is poweredhe RAID bios tries to detect it and then times out.  I have to hit "g" to get into dos.  If the drive is not powered it boots right into dos.

I am using a floppy drive and wearing out my Xbox 360 power button.

Any ideas?  I have tried everything in this thread of course.

I bought the Syba Via 6421 pci card for a computer that I am building and for some reason I can't get it to work period... I can get windows to find the card, but it will not recognize my ide hard drives that I have hooked up to it. I have not figured out how to get into the bios of this card in dos either. I am stuck and would really like some help if any of you are very familiar with this card.. This is what I have in the new pc:
CPU AMD A64 X2 5200+ 2.7G
MB Gigabyte GA_MA78GM-S2H 78G RT Motherboard
4 Gigs DDR2 Ram
Raid Card SYBA SY_VIA6421-3S1P RTL
2 Sata Hard drives
2 Ide Hard drives
2 dvd burners

I only have 1 ide channel on the motherboard so I was hoping to use this pci card to control my 2 IDE hard drives. I don't want to use the RAID function. I want to use the JBOD function which I know this card has, but I can't figure out how to get to it. I would really appreciate anyones help. Thanks.
