I point of note for those going out to buy the following card:

I have the SI3114 chipset onboard so need something else to enable me to flash. I bought this and it did do the job for flashing the xbox360 however it gets a bit funky in windows.

First off i had loads of problems with conflicts in windows with my network card and firwire port, so i disabled them and was able to boot, the drivers are very old and out of date.

However the worst issue is that if you want to make backups your stuck because although you can flash the drive I had problems booting.

When I start the xbox360 and then start the pc with it plugged up, the ali card discovers the card 'TSSTcorp etc' but refuses to carry on any further. It just sits there on the Press CTRL_A bit.

ThraXed did you experience any similar problems? it may well just be a hardware conflict but i have yet to overcome it.

Hope the Samsung Alternate Firmware picks up pace then I can bin this method!!

Yep works fine with CloneCD. Personally I'd use CloneCD to recopy the image file to your HDD and then use that to burn.

erm i have a problem i flashed my samsung and flashed the xtrm 3.2 but my dvd key say FF FF FF is there any thing i can do to fix this

If you didn't back up your firmware then your Xbox 360 will never have another DVD drive in it again (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Unless if somebody finds a way to extract the DVD key from the motherboard, but you should have followed directions and backed up your original firmware.

Well I flash my Hitashi drive with Birdy_Hitachi-LG_friendly_Flasher_v2.2_with_Xtreme_v1.3_and_2.0 mediacheck2_FIXED now my 360 wont open the drive or read an original game or dvd movie

, but in modeb it will boot the game or the movie and when I get back to the dashbord it will not reconize the game/movie. When I restore my fw it still acts up anyone has any option on how to fix it cause I try to reflash it, and restore it and it wont return back to normal

Did you use 2-wire trick? Sounds like a bad two-wire attempt to me ??

Thanks GaryOpa i have successfully flashed my drive

I was too nervous that when i was trying to get it into modeb using the slax cd in dos i forgot to opened the dvd tray and it kept on reading nothing> halfway through reading i ejected the dvd tray and straight away it recognises it
