 I have read the article you kindly supplied the link to and it is 50 percent hypothetical speculation on your part 50 percent common knowledge.  You state in the document about the 360 security and such which is fine but that can be researched anywhere.
I also see you have a pop at TheSpecialist claiming he has no proof of his work and that is a valid point (personally I believe the guy) the part where you say anyone can claim to be a Hacker is true, as you say the mere fact a would be hacker makes such claims makes people not dare to speak out against them or challenge that position. You could also be playing the same game could you not? Who is really to say with anything where it originated. Reputation counts for quite a lot when you make a bold claim, as does your image and how the public perceive you as a company. The whole package in-cludes things such as your web site, public profile, product presentation and marketing.
If you spent 2 days on the article then you must have only had the odd 15 minutes here and there during those days. The complete info could have been gleaned from the web in 30 minutes.
Now you may be some Top Dog Hacker, I don't really know but if that is the case you need to project a much more professional profile.
Am I some super knowledge hacker? Am I shit. I would not know where to start. Fair play to the guys that understand all this and do the work.
I do know some very knowledgable people, guys who can make my head spin. They all have one thing in common they quietly go about their business, They don't ever feel threatened enough to have a go at a rival team or a rival person and when they go public on a development it is projected with effeciency, class and builds immediate confidence into everything they do.
I thank you for the link but I could not say in all honesty that its worth a pin, most is common knowledge.
The people on XS know that I will always give an honest appraisal even if it is not always what they want to hear. I have no favourite Teams and am not in anyones pocket so the thoughts expressed are as stated in no way biased, just my own sad ramblings.

i agree with chancer there are too many ppl in here spoutin shit about xecuter and others when they are the people doin the hard graft.

As chancer says real hackers dont want the limelight, which you obviously do. do us a favour and make your own forum to spout shit in and leave the rest of us to talk about the important stuff, not who is a bigger or more in the know person.

I just read back some. and ive been on these forums since mid>late 2002. lol and i can honestly admit it eems very obviouse xb-s has  an investment in xecuter. and by all rights they should. but it does leave one to wonder if xecuter pushes xb-s's votes.

also the evidence is tehre. sadly. xecuter seemed to announce a firmware chip but did nothing further untill someone else released a guide. (cavernmods). and then they announced it.

and the ""RECENT" epoxy discovery is a bit of a farce.

all in all cavern IS a very good group a hell of a lot smaller then xecuter yes. but regardless they have the backing.. but danny.y our site does bite lol

I am undecided for now. lets see who wins and what xecuter does next

P.S. there sata hdd adaptor is a rip off < 360sata.com beat ema nd xecuter rebult the pcb. changed nothing. and relaunched it under there name.. thats harsh guys.. yes.. harsh

agreed there  a bit like a tale i heard about some dodgy chips that appeared on the scene.

Really everyone is entitled to an opinion without flagrant censorship. So long as no one is personally attacking another member, all should be left alone. The only people flaming in here are the anti cavern gang and that i find bewildering, unless there is substance to the stories about xecut)rs  trustworthiness. The reaction tells me there obviously is.

I've been more ANTI Xecuter than Pro over the years with my own posts, and I'll never tell staff to pick sides. I'm currently pretty PRO Xecuter right now.. as they are one of the few teams still producing chnips in quantity, still making money.. and still supporting their shops and customers.

.. and tyhe reason CHEAPMODS have so monay posts, is that it's a dumping ground for all kinds of chips. .and frankly.. still has ALOT of chip threads that belong to other chip forums. Originally all the chip forums were one.. then we started to split them. Not all of the threads got moved, so the thread/post count for cheapmods is bloated.

i thought i remember readin an article before the 360 came out stating that security would also be on the hardware side of things...maybe they learned from previous efforts about the soldering of mod chips and so on so they added this epoxy method incase someone tryied to remove the chips....

also do you think that is why they are taking longer than expected on getting a bigger hd out because they gotta figure people are gonna want to transfer their old files to their new one so they gotta come up with a way on how to do it....obviously along the same lines as the transfer method currently available...

if they gotta make a pc to hd adatper then they prolly figure thats another security problem they will face with all these talented hackers around....my props to you guys for the time you take figuring these things out..it's an art i say....

FYI: Epoxy/glue protection is nothing new.

First time I saw this was on the Digiview product for the Amiga in 1987(?). Small plugin digitizer that acepted video camera input.  The device was small and plastic, and the inside held a simple circuit that was completely encased/drowned in epoxy, both for physical protection, and for security.

I'm sure this wasn't the first time it was used that way...
