any word on when anything will be available for the hitatchi lg drive? what the delay is on those drives?

From what I heard it's going to be a start from scratch job because Scener and other people have been asking if it was possible to replicate the DVD-Rom hack for the Hitachi by using the the difference between the hacked and original firmware for the samsung.

True. What I do wonder though is where did Scener hear about region free? Did somebody tell him they were working on a firmware or was he just saying that it was a possibility if the firmware was released. When I looked at foros360 Scener mentioned 2-3 days and region free so I assumed (as i'm sure many people did) the he was working on the firmware, working with a team on the firmware or was close to somebody who was working on the firmware and was giving him updates.

I can't complain (although i'd like to, lol) because I know nothing about modifiying firmware so its just a matter of waiting. It would just be nice to have an idea of any progressthat was being made by anybody.

I don't know how it could be region free anyway, since I doubt the regional protection would be stored within the drive's firmware.

To be honest, I've kind of given up on waiting for it now though, it just seems to be disappointment after disappointment when it comes to this drive.

I agree. If it isn't out by now, I am not counting on it personally.

SOOOoooo. Where can you buy that Samsung drive from again?

I looked a bit on that foros360 but cant see any technical people there. So I doubt foros360 has anything to do with these firmwares and especially to know when or what is going to happen. Can be a marketing issue for their forum which I see packed up all the time but seems useless going there. As regards the Hitachi Firmware if The Specialist managed to do it I dont see how others like Commodere4eva doesnt since 100% sure worked on the different posts on xbox-hacker which describes the technical issues. Most probably commodore4eva was only interested in the samsung firmware. So hitachi/LG users need to wait till maybe another guy is happy to do the Hitachi/LG.

I heard that the Hitmen firmware (released yesterday) works, but doesn't boot Xbox 1 backups.

hitmen released a hitachi 360 firmware on May 21st according to a respectible info site. Any info on its functionality or its whereabouts is unknown though at present.
