Hi Grim, I am hoping you can help me or someone else can.

I am using an xbox 360 with a MS25 drive. I am making a usb bootable drive with the latest version of xtreme boot maker. I am using a VIA VT6421 SATA card.

If i look under MSINFO32 etc, in the IDE i have a Intel® 82801GB/GR/GH (ICH7 Family) Serial ATA Storage Controller - 27C0 - and if I look under SCSI I have VIA VT6421 RAID Controller.

Now in extreme boot maker I selet the correct firmware and the it says make custom MKTFLASH so i select it and it detects my VIA Sata card and gives them a device ID of 11063249 and a I/O Port of DC00D800. So i go ahead and format and make bootable.

I boot into dos with the sata cable from card NOT in the back of the dvd drive ofthe 360. It comes to the prompt so I type samread ******* ***** and it offers me one selection of 1. IDE Primary Master. The only think it seems to be able to detect is my IDE CDROM.

I have read some tutorials and am stuck.

I understand that the latest version of Extreme Boot Maker does all the hex editing for you, correct?

Thanks in advance to Grim or anyone that can help.

Hey all,

i need some help editing mtkflash to suit my SATA chipset.

the Info:
Name   NVIDIA nForce4 Serial ATA Controller
Manufacturer   NVIDIA Corporation
Status   OK
PNP Device ID   PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0054&SUBSYS_B0031458&REV_F3\3&2411E6FE&0&38
I/O Port   0x000009F0-0x000009F7
I/O Port   0x00000BF0-0x00000BF3
I/O Port   0x00000970-0x00000977
I/O Port   0x00000B70-0x00000B73
I/O Port   0x0000D000-0x0000D00F

What i thought: DE10 5400
and                  F009 7009

P.S. i just wanted to confirm when editing the mtkyflash file all i do is Goto B370 and start typing in the new hex codes. (it does contain nvidia stuff in the text on the right so im pretty sure im in the right spot)

Also i havent seen anyone elses code with a letter in it?

I would appreciate any help!

Cheers

Hello, I would hereby like to get a confirmation from someone that what I think is correct actually is~

Name   ATI AHCI Compatible RAID Controller
Manufacturer   ATI Technologies Inc.
Status   OK
PNP Device ID   PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_4380&SUBSYS_72431462&REV_00\3&267A616A&0&90
I/O Port   0x0000E800-0x0000E807
I/O Port   0x0000E400-0x0000E403
I/O Port   0x0000E000-0x0000E007
I/O Port   0x0000DC00-0x0000DC03
I/O Port   0x0000D800-0x0000D80F
Memory Address   0xFFEFFC00-0xFFEFFFFF
IRQ Channel   IRQ 22
Driver   c:\windows\system32\drivers\ahcix64s.sys (2.5.1540.35, 135.40 KB (138,648 bytes), 1/3/2007 4:18 PM)

1. So was I correct in that the following is the sequence I have to hex-"inject"?
02108043 00E800E0

2. And in this example, have I injected it in the correct place?
[img=http://img524.imageshack.us/img524/6849/mktflashdk8.th.jpg]

3. Would it be ok for me to change the text
VIA8237 (which is actually 56 4941 3832 3337?)
or rather, would this be needed at all? Or can this text be ignored completely?

Please point out anything I've done wrong so far in editing MTKflash to flash my drive, or confirm if what I've come up with so far is correct~ Are there any other problems I might encounter while retrieving the original flash and flashing the hacked one with this setup or type of SATA controller?

Thank you~

ich7 works but its alittle buggy so its good you got the via, make sure you are using the port closest to the front of the computer on the via card

i wouldent use sam, just use mtkflash r /m /sata orig.bin

Hi all,

I have been following 'The Specialists' guide for using hddhackr and i have been directed to this thread n the forum. I have a version of mtkflash which i have hex edited and works perfect and i have tried hex editing hddhackr with the same bytes, is this the correct proceedure?

Here is my details:

Name   VIA VT6421 RAID Controller
Manufacturer   VIA Technologies, Inc.
Status   OK
PNP Device ID   PCI\VEN_1106&DEV_3249&SUBSYS_32491106&REV_50\3&61AAA01&0&38
I/O Port   0x0000D800-0x0000D80F
I/O Port   0x0000D400-0x0000D40F
I/O Port   0x0000D000-0x0000D00F
I/O Port   0x0000CC00-0x0000CC0F
I/O Port   0x0000C800-0x0000C81F
I/O Port   0x0000C400-0x0000C4FF
IRQ Channel   IRQ 18
Driver   c:\windows\system32\drivers\viamraid.sys (5.1.2600.542, 101.63 KB (104,064 bytes), 30/04/2007 13:20)

Name   SCSI/RAID Host Controller
Manufacturer   (Standard mass storage controllers)
Status   OK
PNP Device ID   ACPI\PNPA000\4&5D18F2DF&0
I/O Port   0x0000FFE0-0x0000FFEF
IRQ Channel   IRQ 9

I use 0611 4932 D024 B024 which i know is SLIGHTYLY different from what my settings say but it works perfectly with MTKFLASH but not HDDHACKR. Can anyone give me any advice on how i should edit HDDHACKR so my 120GB original drive gets regonised so i can copy onto a new WD 120BEV. I have tried a few different settings but after a day of hex editing my head is buzzing and i feel i am over looking something simple.

Any help is greatly appreciated
