try
CODE
0210 7643 2B33 0B6B

if that dosent work then you will probly need a pci card

Grim, thanx. I got a little further this time.
I used the numbers from the 1st and 2nd controller entry and I replaced ICHP5 with
02107A4300FF00FD
and ICHP6 with
0210794300FA00F8.

I turned off the regular IDE in the bios and now mktflash says it found something.
Depending on where I have the drive plugged in I get the following:
1. ICHP5: Master
2. ICHP5: Slave

or

1. ICHP6: Master
2. ICHP6: Slave

No matter what I pick though, I get somekind of a port: ### and another number and then the pc is frozen.

The port:### looks like the ports in the numbers above like 00FF or 00FD or 00FA 00F8 and the code is a0 or b0.
I think I am getting closer.

the problem is your ide channels are a little bit to buddy buddy with your SATA channels, try disabling all ide channels in your cosmos and using this

Thanks Grim. I have that in there as well. I used the nforce 3 entry for that one. Basically I entered all the controllers (3 of them) that show up in msinfo into mtkflash. Am I confusing mtkflash?

Hello Grim.

I have an Gigabyte K8U-989 Atx Motherboard
360 Toshiba Drive FW:MS 25 Feb 2006

Here are my driver specs for my sata chipset

Name   ALi SATA/RAID Controller (M5289)
Manufacturer   ALi Corporation
Status   OK
PNP Device ID   PCI\VEN_10B9&DEV_5289&SUBSYS_B0031458&REV_10\3&13C0B0C5&0&71
I/O Port   0x0000D400-0x0000D407
I/O Port   0x0000D800-0x0000D803
I/O Port   0x0000DC00-0x0000DC07
I/O Port   0x0000E000-0x0000E003
I/O Port   0x0000E400-0x0000E40F
IRQ Channel   IRQ 19
Driver   c:\windows\system32\drivers\m5289.sys (5.029, 50.63 KB (51,840 bytes), 5/27/2006 1:22 AM)

I cant get my mktflash to recognize the drive to dump the firmware, I spent most of the night, reading the post. I have booted with all IDE channels disabled, Connected XBOX Toshiba Drive with sata no power,
boot to floppy, then power up the 360 when I get the prompt. Type in the mtkflash r backup.bin. Also tried the /sata command. None of these work. I am sure this can work if I can get some help on this hex edit ( which I am not too familiar with by the way.) I was wondering could you use my info to make a screenshot of how it would look correctly in Hexedit? Or if you can edit MKTFlash for me and email it to me if possible or post on a share site like rapidshare?

I know I`m asking alot, but I dont want to brick it,and I will use the info you give me to get this down..
I can do everything hacking the Xbox ( i post on slayers forum all the time) I was just hoping you can lend a 360 N00b a helping hand?

Thanks

Geremia over at XBH has a ALI card that he got to work its got a little bit different specs other wise i would give you the link to his, but it is known that some ALI cards work, guess you just gotta keep trying
MTKFlash for your ALI SATA Chipset
also try booting with all IDE channels enabled but only one drive hooked up (DVD drive),if you can disable Bootrom in the bios then you don't need to hot swap or Boot dos and the 360 separately (when booting separately make sure you have the 360 SATA connected to the 360)
Right now not even being able to get it detected in windows you couldn't make it a brick if you wanted to(well at least not without a hammer)

Hope this Helps

P.S. i don't use those post-it now Websites, i have my own from www.1001megs.com

Editing Mtkflash To Work With Your Sata Chipset
« Reply #83 on: May 27, 2006, 08:45:00 AM »

I am using this board:

A8N32-SLI Deluxe

My Chipset:

Nvidia NForce4 SLIx16

MY "Storage"

NVIDIA Nforce4 "supports":
2 x ultra DMA 133/100/66/33 connectors for up to 4 IDE devices
4 x Serial ATA devices (3 Gb/s)
NVIDIA for RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 0+1, RAID 5, and
JBOD configuration that spans across Serial ATA drives

I ALSO HAVE:

Silicon Image 3132 SATA controller "supports":
1 x Internal Serial ATA device (3 Gb/s)
1 x External Serial ATA device (3 Gb/s)
(for SATA On-The-Go)
RAID 0 and RAID 1 configurations.

~~~
I am using an Nforce4 and also a regular mtkflash.exe file.
My best reslut so far....
I can disable everything but the floppy and xbox drive in the bios
I am able to recognize the drive with mtkflash
I select master sata
Then the cursor will either hang or it will give some port info...
Has ANYON actually gotten the board/chipset to work?
