Much needed BUMP!

Thank you very much Grim187 for this tutorial.  This made my Sammy flashing experience MUCH easier.  I didn't feel like opening my main PC, so I picked up a cheap VIA6421 card and with the hexedits, it worked like a charm in my "Frankendongle" PC!

Cheers,
Plex

Glad to hear you got it working and thanks for the bump

Editing Mtkflash To Work With Your Sata Chipset
« Reply #121 on: June 02, 2006, 03:13:00 PM »

I have just successfully dumped my ts fw with my Via VT8237 chipset using "MTKFlash r /m /sata A:\orig.bin"
i tried a couple things before i got it,

1. after booting to dos and booting the 360 separate i tried using a edited MTKFlash on my hdd (after running NTFSdos) to dump to my hdd with no go ("Failed to Open Output file")

2. i then tried writing to the Floppy (with the Edited MTKFlash on floppy) with no go ("No Drives Detected")

3. i then Tried Using the Edited MTKFlash from my hdd (mounted with ntfsdos) to Dump to my Floppy, it didnt detect the drive the first time i ran MTKFlash but it did the 2nd (When it detected the drive it said Please Wait and did not when it wouldn't)

Note: I did not Have to Disable Any of my Devices (IDE,Etc.)

Hope this helps

Editing Mtkflash To Work With Your Sata Chipset
« Reply #122 on: June 02, 2006, 09:47:00 PM »

Has anyone gotten it to work with an ATI Radeon Xpress 200 chipset? I saw a few other people didn't.  I tried to hexedit MTKFlash but when I run MSINFO nothing is listed under SCSI?

I didnt see anything in MSINFO that mentioned serial ATA.

The computer is a Compaw SR1710NX with an Asus A8AE-LE motherboard.

Any Ideas?

ATI Radeon Xpress 200 is a video card. It has absolutely nothing to do with SATA or anything that would ever have anything to do with hacking the XBox 360 DVD firmware. You're an idiot...sorry for the flames, honestly.

Hi,

I had problems setting my keys earlier, I currently am using a DFI Infinity Nforce 2 Ultra MOBO

Name   Silicon Image SiI 3114 SATALink Controller
Manufacturer   Silicon Image
Status   OK
PNP Device ID   PCI\VEN_1095&DEV_3114&SUBSYS_31141095&REV_02\4&3B1D9AB8&0&5840
I/O Port   0x0000A000-0x0000BFFF
I/O Port   0x0000A400-0x0000A403
I/O Port   0x0000A800-0x0000A807
I/O Port   0x0000AC00-0x0000AC03
I/O Port   0x0000B000-0x0000B00F
Memory Address   0xEB000000-0xEB0003FF
IRQ Channel   IRQ 19
Driver   c:\windows\system32\drivers\si3114.sys (1, 2, 0, 5, 53.59 KB (54,872 bytes), 6/11/2005 6:57 PM)

I was having problems looking for the 7 byte sets. When I had my IDE PCI card in it did not work and gave me different IO port address's I tried to hex edit them in and would always lock up after it mtkflash loaded, all the boot procedures I tried yielded the same results.

Any input would be great.

Thanks

Now you have to install specific ati sata drivers to see the serial ata ID in MSINFO....
If you dont install serial ata drivers, you cant see the ID vendor...
BTW, the serial ata ID is under IDE, not SCSI in msinfo... blink.gif

Don't edit the last 4bytes, leave them how they where/are (don't put 00000000 on emm aether), if your still having problems check out page 3 i think i talk about flashing the chipsets bios

looks like your taking over.....lol, actually in most cases your sata info is under SCSI when you have the same chipset controlling your ide chain it will be under IDE

That is all that is listed.  Nothing is listed on SCSI.  The only hard drive in the machine is a SATA hard drive.  I have installed the newest chipset drivers (which include SATA drivers) but I still do not see any Serial ATA info listed.

Thanks man for rying to help, I checked there and nothing is listed but the internal modem in the "Serial" section.

Hopefully someone else with this chipset has played with it.  Otherwise I'll just go out and buy a PCI Sata controller.

The Motherborad bios detects the TS drive fine.  It's just MTKFlash that is not set up to work with it.

Try to edit MTKflash with this

Name Standard Dual Channel PCI IDE Controller
Manufacturer (Standard IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers)
Status OK
PNP Device ID PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_4379&SUBSYS_2A26103C&REV_00\3&61AAA01&0&90
I/O Port 0x0000FF00-0x0000FF07
I/O Port 0x0000FE00-0x0000FE03
I/O Port 0x0000FD00-0x0000FD07
I/O Port 0x0000FC00-0x0000FC03
I/O Port 0x0000FB00-0x0000FB0F
Memory Address 0xFE02F000-0xFE02F1FF
IRQ Channel IRQ 22
Driver c:\windows\system32\drivers\pciide.sys (5.1.2600.0 (XPClient.010817-1148), 3.25 KB (3,328 bytes), 8/4/2004 8:00 AM)

If I dont install sata drivers, my sata controller looks like "standard dual channel pci ide controller", so give it  a try...

Hi Grim,

Wonder if you could clarify something for me.

In your first post you stated that you get 2 codes from the 2 I/O lines. What if your sata only has one line?

Name   Silicon Image SiI 3132 SATALink Controller
Manufacturer   Silicon Image
Status   OK
PNP Device ID   PCI\VEN_1095&DEV_3132&SUBSYS_31321095&REV_01\4&3F01986&0&0038
Memory Address   0xFE1FF000-0xFE1FF07F
Memory Address   0xFE1F8000-0xFE1FBFFF
I/O Port   0x0000BC80-0x0000BCFF
IRQ Channel   IRQ 19
Driver   c:\windows\system32\drivers\si3132.sys (1, 0, 0, 9, 65.63 KB (67,200 bytes), 11/11/2005 11:21)

I know its a Silicon Image but was wondering what I would have to add to MTkFlash to try and get it working.

Hope you can help.

Regards
