A Full Time Drive With The Xrtm0800 Firmware Flashed On?
« on: May 19, 2006, 12:26:00 PM »

I have a usb dvd sony burner. I was wandering if it'd be possible to flash it with the mtk flash program(from boot disk). Then use it inside of windows to make my back ups. I don't need to as a burner any long, because I have a new dual layer burner thats much much faster.

are you asking if u can flash that Sony DVD single layer burner with xtreme0800 to get SS and game images?

If thats what u meant  then no. The xtreme0800 will only work on the Samsum Drive. I believe that if you dont want to be flashing the Samsum everytime u want to back up a game, then u have to go the alternate way...

by using wxRipper and SS Merger (v 1.3 already out) . By this method I believe u can use any DVD Drive, and by using the Swap method u can get dumps of your Originals, but then U still need the SS, whic I believe are out there for most games (check which version though NTSC or PAL) or there are also some FUll merged SSed Images comming out too.

You can also either install another SST chip and a switch and do a duel boot with the 2 firmwares or get another Toshiba/Samsung drive for backups in your PC..
