« on: May 19, 2006, 07:46:00 AM »

It has to be updated with ppf o matic? I have the same file as you and im unsure if I have to use it like this since in the tutorials here they doesnt mention anything about updating it,but they keep mentioning the xtreme_proper.bin and I just have xtreme.bin.It would be very useful if someone could clarify this,I havent updated it with ppf o matic of course.

The original release has a xtreme.bin

the second release by foros360 refers to an xtreme_proper.bin although is no in-cluded. They in-clude ppf-o-matic app and the patch.

I believe you r supposed to use the ppf-o-matic tool, load xtreme.bin (make an exta copy before) and patch it.

Now this is your xtreme_proper.bin. When u use KDX to paste your original key, Instead of seeing FF FF FF ..... (with original xtreme.bin) you'll see 00 00 00 ..... (with patched xtreme.bin = xtreme_proper.bin)

Im not 100% sure. but when u open the original and the patched under WinHex, u'll see that they put the 00 00  after offset 401A to 4029 rather than 4000 to 4029

the people from foros360 say the there are to keys and the valid one is the one from 401A to 4029

You can use the one you have, just be sure you have used the patcher to put your key in.

Hey Guy's

Thanks for the replies wink.gif

I was a little green around the ears etc before I started this but I have upgraded my firmware and my 360 still works!

tyuon how did your flash go?

For those who have the original firmware and have downloaded the xtreme_proper patch here is what I have done:

I had the original extreme.bin, then **obtained** wink.gif the extreme_proper.ppf patch which in-cluded ppf-o-matic.exe.  I then loaded extreme.bin (original) into ppf-o-matic and loaded the xtreme_proper.ppf and then clicked apply.

This left me with the (updated) extreme.bin file (the only way to tell if the patch has been successful is to look at the date modified and that should report the file was modified the time and date you did the patch).

Once you have the updated extreme.bin you can then follow the rest of the readme to download your existing firmware, add your dvd key to the image and , then flash with your updated firmware.

I hope this helps!!!
