Pic Of My Sata Passthru Mod
« on: May 19, 2006, 04:36:00 AM »

Here is a Sata Passthru I knocked up on my second 360. Uses a 2 port Sata Extension Bracket from Dabs.com

Please no discussion on the untidiness of the case i have hacked apart!!!

Dabs Extension bracket

It has to be 2 port...drive goes 2 1 internal connector and mobo connector goes to the other.

To connect to the PC i just disconnect the left hand external sata cable and connect to my PC!

THe video cable section allows me to keep my component video hooked up to my plasma without the hassle of disconnecting it each time. All it does is fool the xbox into thinking the video cable is plugged in.

i actually did it that way too! but then i realised my passthru cable would get in the way of the hard drive blink.gif

and you still have to remove HD, remove grey plate, disconnect  mobo sata connector.

My way is a straight connect. It could be done neater tho smile.gif

it takes me 30 seconds to pop off the harddrive, and to pop off the grey plate... and if i feel like i i might cut a hole in the grey plate, so that its hidden when the harddrive is on, and then i can just pop the hdd off.. but i like it the way it is now..

When I start from opening the tray the firmware is 0800 when I power on normally the firmware is xtreme for games. Then I said screw it and just put another drive flashed to 0800 in the PC permanent.
