Cant Recognize 360drive
« on: May 18, 2006, 09:49:00 AM »

Hey,
This is the board that i am trying to plug my 360drive into:
http://www.intel.com/products/motherboard/d945gcz/index.htm

I have unplugged my cdrom drive (ide) and removed the sata cable from my pc hdd and plugged into my 360drive.  This leaves only my floppy drive plugged in.  My pc boots to dos fine with boot disk, but when i turn on my 360 to give my drive power this is what happens with each SATA plugin:

SATA0: no drive found
SATA1: no drive found
SATA2: loud sustained beeping sound
SATA3: loud sustained beeping sound

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Warpz

Update:

i switched to another pc with a different motherboard.  This motherboard also has 4 SATA connections on it, so i once again unplugged my SATA HD and used that cable for my 360drive.  Once again here are the results for the 4 sata connections:

SATA0: no drive found
SATA1: no drive found
SATA2: beeps, locks up, displays: "internal stack overflow error, edit config.sys to increase the STACK property"
SATA3: beeps, locks up, displays: "internal stack overflow error, edit config.sys to increase the STACK property"

so after messing around with google, i tried different stack values, the only one that made a difference was "0,0"  This value just made it lock up, with no error message. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

does this give anyone any ideas?

Thanks for any input.
