There Is A Pci Sata Adapter Reported To Work
« Reply #135 on: August 01, 2006, 11:10:00 AM »

Just ordered a VIA 6421 card off eBay.

Can someone please confirm if mtkflashVIA that everyone is talking about is the same as 'firmware/via/mtkflash.exe' thats bundled in the AutoFlasher 1.3 package?  (I have no intentions of using the autoflasher now after lots of horror stories!)

Well the via/mtkflash enclosed in the autoflasher 1,1 didnt work for me and my 6420 card...im not sure where i got the one that did work, but its called mtk183c_via.rar...i also stumbled across another one, mtkvia.exe, didnt test it yet though. But the first one worked just fine so i really dont feel the need to test it anyway.

I've found it in rapidshare - but I've NEVER managed to download ANYTHING from there!
It always says 'download session invalid'
Annoying!!

I am trying this one myself, will be here tomorrow:

http://www.amazon.co...L...ce&n=172282

SIIG SC-SAT212 Serial Ata Pci

A few people said it worked for them with slax.

This one worked great for me with the slax cd and the hitachi drive. The newegg cheap card is garbage for my setup.

Except it's $25 more than the newegg card.  Pretty easy to just setup the 2 wire trick IMHO.

Pretty easy to brick your 360 too.

You can find this chipset cheaper on ebay and maybe some other places, but I have amazon prime (cheap overnight shipping) and wanted it fast.

Unless you have the reaction time of a turtle....you have 2-3 seconds to disconnect the wires....pretty easy....even with one hand.

I dont see why not if it has the VIA VT6421 chipset.  Thats the one most people are having success with at the moment.

This is a technical forum...not a forum to request help on finding computer hardware.  Try searching the internet....Google is your friend.

I can confirm that MTKflashvia.exe is the right file to use when flashing your Samsung Drive with that particular SATA Card.  However, you are probably better off getting that file separately rather than using the one in the Autoflasher package, (just to be safe).  You can find it at rapid share and at many other places.  If you are trouble finding it, then PM me.
