Motherboard: Epox 9nda3j (nforce3)
DVD burner: Pioneer-108/A08 with piodata 1.18 firmware
Media: Verbatim at 2.4x burnspeed

Dvd drive date: Feb 2006
Xbox date: April 2006

Works fine so far without adjusting dvd pots

Was getting an "unrecognized disc" error, but hex-editing the firmware and adding the key myself instead of using KDX fixed that.

Used ASRock 775Dual-880Pro mobo.  Using NEC 3550A with Verbatim media at 2.4x speed in clone cd.
note: I can only dump and write firmware but that's all I need to do with it.

1) Motherboard = MSI K8N NEO Platinum Nforce 3 Chipset
2) Burner = Asus DVD dual layer burner supports dvd-rom
3) Media = Verbatim 2.4x (4x) dvd+r dl

I have the same board, and I'm trying the Hitachi 47d drive. The BIOS seems to recognize it, but I can never make Windows see it. Any tips or ideas? I also have problems with the SLAX live .iso booting all the way. It seems to hang right after the message that says "ModeB set, sending commands XX XX XX XX XX XX blah blah", then says "Response: 0", then it hangs. Any ideas on that?

P.S. I do have a Xecuter Con. Kit coming, maybe this'll make it easier?

mobo:epox nforce 4 + ultra
burner:Sony Dru-810a USING BAD BROTHERS BETA DRIVER... ALSO TRIED NEWEST UPDATE FROM SONY
media: both verbatim DVD +R DL (RW) and DYNEX DVD +R DL (RW)

OK I am at a complete loss.... Ive seen people in this thread using the same burner and media than me and I have made no progress the last 2 days straight..... I know tons of people are having problems but Ive got over 15 COASTERS!!! Anyone want to possibly help me?

Ive tried both ripping games on my own and patching as well as getting scene releases and NOTHING seems to help....  I just dont get whats going on here....

Is there anyway to ensure that my booktype is being set correctly?

I noticed that people are using "soft rebooting" as an option but this does not work for me either.

Mobo: Asus A7N8X-E
Burner: Sony DRU-800A (rebadged LiteOn 1693S)
Media: Dynex (Ritek) 2.4x & Verbatim 8x

Hitachi 47DH flashed with Xtreme 1.1 and both discs work.  No booting tricks needed.  Just burn and play.
