I am using a md-16x3dvd9-8x Mad Dog Multimedia dvd burner with a Book Type setting utility that you can download from their website.

My first backup worked like a charm this is a great drive for Xbox 360 Back Up's!

Here is the link to the web site:

1) Mobo - Not sure, it's running a 650mhz processor, lol. Used Highpoint RocketRAID 1520 PCI card to flash, and Compusa Sil3512 PCI card for copying.

2) Drive - HP DVD Writer 640c (Lightscribe)

3) Media - Verbatim DVD+R DL burned at 2.4x.

Perfect backup of PD0.

1)mobo: Gigabyte GA 81945PL - G ( ICH7 Chipset )
2) Liteon SHW-160P6S
3)Verbatim DVD+R DL 8X 8.5GB 5 pack from Bestbuy @ 2.5X CloneCD.

This took me pretty much all day yesterday to get working, first I had to modify MTKFlash to work with the ICH7 chipset. Then I had to buy a floppy drive and some floppies. I used KDX1.5-by-F360TEAM (Thanks for the great tool guys, I probably did it wrong) but it did not work for me, I had to manually copy over the firmware Security sector to the 360 DVD drive Xtreme firmware. Once I did that I have now copied 2 games from the xbox drive to my computer and I have COD 2 running as a backup right now. This is a little tricky as a hack because of the SATA chipset support for MTKFlash but its much easier then soldering in a modchip. Does what i want it to, would only recommend this mod for people that know what they are getting into. Thanks to everyone that has created tutorials, without you I would never have gotton mine to work. Also lots of thanks to the fireware modders.

1.)  Dell Optiplex its either a 160 or 170L cant remember its at work.
2.)  NEC ND-3540A Firmware 1.04
3.)  Verbatim DVD+R DL RW 20 Pack from Best Buy 2.4X 8.5 Gb.

These discs are RW and I didnt realize it when I bought them.  Purple and Yellow label.  These discs worked fine for 3 or 4 days and today I ejected a disc in the middle of a game and now they wont boot unless I get lucky.  I imagine it has to be the media because it worked before.  The only way I can get them to boot is to unplug the DVD drive completely and then plug it back in.

1) Dell Dimension 4600 computer...(no idea about motherboard)
2) HP dvd530i (flashed with with a Sony DRU-700A bios)
3) El cheapo DYNEX 5pack DVD+DL from Best Buy.

Rip process went great.

First burn at 2.4x of Perfect Dark Zero ran great no problems.
Subsequent two discs I tried would not work at 2.4x.
Changed CloneCD to 1x burn and discs ran like a champ!

1) Asus PRS800D-E Deluxe
2) NEC 3540A with Liggy and Dees latest firmware
3) Verbatim DVD+R DL 8.5GB 8X Branded 5pk

Burned at 8x with CloneCD, work perfect.

I tried 2.4X Fuji Film DVD+R DL first and only got one of them to boot once, it had a real hard time reading them.

1) Motherboard = Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe using the onboard SATA
2) Burner = Nec 3540a Firmware 1.04 (Liggy)
3) Media = Philips Dual Layer

I had some problems with non working burns but it was related to the old firmware in my burner (1.03).
