DVD-Burner = NEC DVD_RW ND4570A
Media = Datawrite titanium

I have a Gigabyte GA-K8N Pro-SLI mobo.  What SATA chipset is it?  Is there anything special that I need to do?

Cheers

1) Intel 915P Motherboard
2) Liteon 1693S 16X DVD±RW
3) Verbatim 2.4x and Memorex 2.4x

Verbatim worked great with 5 different games no issues.  With the Memorex I had problems.  First 3 burns got DDE errors when trying to boot the game.  I then used my laptop that has an LG DVD Dual Layer burner and the very first burn with Memorex media worked great.

So the actual BURNER can be an issue for everyone that is getting DDE's.  Memorex's are Ritek D01 discs.

I have to add that the drive has to be on SATA port 1 and the xbox powered up so the BIOS detects the drive else MTKFLASH will just hang.

1) PCI - 2 port sata board (Ali m5283 chipset)
2) NEC-2510A (Maddog 2.F8 firmware, 2.F9 does not have Ritek D01 support!)
3) Memorex +R DL (Ritek D01)

My first burn turned out to be an expensive coaster but i later found out that my DVD-writer's firmware did not support the media. I upgraded the firmware (well downgraded in my case because the newer firmware did not support this media for some odd reason), and the second burn was quite successful. It seems like a lot of people are complaining about MEMOREX dual layer media, but I believe its that there current firmwares or dvd-writers are not supporting it. Upgrade your firmware and then try the burn again. Also double check on the web which firmwares (orignal or modified) will support your dual layered media.
