Don't Have Sata Onboard Ports, Can't Do Firmware Hack!
« on: May 17, 2006, 10:19:00 PM »

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) Well I need a little help here, I understand if I don't have the onboard sata ports, than I can't do the firmware hack, even with the pci sata addon card.

What's my best option? and if its a motherboard, could someone let me know the best motherboard I'd need for a Dell Dimension 2400?

Thanks alot for your help, by the way will this motherboard work for my dell pc? Your help would be appreciated.

Look I guess your not following me completely here, yes I have read and yes the chipset on the motherboard Intel ICH5 has been confirmed working, all I wanted to know is, if that motherboard would fit properly in my dell dimension 2400 case...Yes, I could probably figure out on my own, and yes I could have probably called dell or some shit, but I don't want to waste my time if I don't have too, and see if someone with already knew my answer, thanks for your response tho.

Your Dimension 2400 is a Micro-ATX case, so you will need a motherboard that will fit accordingly.

I believe a nice motherboard for you would be  the Asus P4V8X-MX  look for a good price under www.pricewatch.com
It will have onboard SATA ports and will be compatible with your CPU/Memory

However, i'm not sure if its truly compatible with the 360 dvd-drive hack.  but  this should atleast push you one step closer to what you are looking for.
