You could also try booting in safe mode and flashing that way,it worked for me on a nf4 chipset with slax

I have nf4 and using Xecutor kit, it takes couple reboots to get it to work in Windows XP Sp2. I had to switch between SATA slot until it is detected.

I am also having the same problems, except I can't even read my firmware. I've been at it for 8 hours. I have tried all the differen combinations of the 'mtkflash r orig.bin' command but no luck. All I keep getting is status = 00, or 51, or 80 should be 70.

I'm using a shuttle sn25p which also has the nf4 chipset

any help would be great

successfully flashed, but can't detect the sammy drive with windows even after uninstalling the nvidia IDE drivers. Anything else it could be?

hello
first off, i have nf4, i just reinstalled windows, without installing mother boards sata drivers.
it boots up.

Hardware manager recognizes  the samsung drive as a diskdrive not a cd or dvd drive?
I have been able to flash and all but this one is really getting on my nerves..

For those still having trouble with the NF4 chipset try this.

1. Set bios to boot from cd first

2. Connect SATA cable from xbox 360 DVD-ROM drive to pc SATA #3 with nothing on 4 (dont forget to connect a croc clip jumper from xbox chassis to pc chassis for ground)

3. Boot using Slax cd

4. After slax boots you shouldn't have to wait for log in: prompt just until it hangs and screen says drive is in Modeb (to check this eject Xbox 360 drive it should take to button press to close then after a couple seconds it will eject on its own) you are now in Modeb.

5. Hit the reset button on pc to boot up windows

6. Now install latest NVidia chipset drivers download here http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp

7. After install forces reboot drive should be visible.

Hope this helps worked great for me and now that drive is flashed I just use the open tray unplug trick to force Modeb.

P.S. I am using an ECS KN1 Lite Main board, and please no flaming for repeating pieces of other guides I just don't like posts full of links I think it just confuses people.

hey kezor. i have the same mobo as u. so how did you get it to work? im having issues. I use the slax and it goes thru all the scribble in the cmd prompt and then it gets into the login area. i reboot and eject the 360 drive and get in windows fine, but then i cant find my drive under hardware manager.

the scribble part is usually fast, i see my two optical drives listed but dont get to see a lot of other things. anyone can also asnwer if they have a clue as to whats going on. thanks.

FLASHED SUCCESSFULLY!!! Slax 2.0 messed me up big time. Used 2.1 instead and it worked like a charm. Thanks to every one and their HIGHLY informative and knowledgeable posts.

I have a DFI LANPARTY UT nF3 250Gb motherboard and was unable to boot into windows with the drive plugged in although i was able to flash my drive in dos with no problems. Windows would either hang at startup or bluescreen if I tried to plug in my drive after startup. I though I could give this fix a shot even though it said it was for nF4 chipsets and it worked. Just though I would post my results for others that might have the same problem. THIS WORKS WITH NFORCE3 chipsets.
