hi there one question.

Does it work to us a DFI Ultra lanparty motherbord?

is all the things i have to do is to uninstal the nf4 driver and intall MS original and it should work to do stuff with the DVD drive.

i have read somwhere that it only works with a few sata motherbords so that is why i am asking unsure.gif

yes my mobo works, do you have 8 sata ports in there

Ok guys, this is exactly how I did this and now I am in Business cool.gif .

Go to Start/Control Panel/Add-Remove Programs and select Nvidia drivers.

Put a check in the IDE Drivers box only.  It will ask to reboot but select NO for now.

Go to My Computer/C:/Nvidia and delete the folder that contains the nforce chipset drivers.

Now when you restart, XP has no choice but to install generic drivers.

Hope that helps.

Now for those having problems flashing.  No you do not have to wait for the drive to start flashing.  It is almost instantaneous after you select the right port.  As far as that goes, I think that the NF4 patched mtkflash doesn't recognize the SATA ports correctly.  Anyway, on my set up I have the 360 on SATA 1 and HDD on SATA 4.  Therefore I have to choose #3 for the port.

I hope this helps some of you guys out. wink.gif

What if you dont have an nf4 chipset, but your computer still freezes. Are there any links/guides for solving the problem?
Cause as far as i know, i dont have an nf4 chipset, but i did manage to flash my drive from dos. yet it still freezes when i load windows.
i have the drive hooked directly to my motherboard (it has two sata connections, one of which is occupied by a sata HD)

my computer still freezes! http://www.newegg.co...N82E16813188002
Thats my mb and I have it plugged into my bottom Sata. I just installed windows on a seperate hard drive, and I unplug my raid hard drives when I want to try this. I still have nvidia drivers in the sata colum under device manager. Any ideas? Also, I'm able to flash the firmware, it just freezes when I try to start up my computer.

Sorry to make three posts in a role, but it actually worked. For those of you who still can't get this to work...

I have a raid setup so to fix that I just unpluged both of the  power cables going to the hard drives, leaving the IDE cables still attached(it's a pain to take those in and out a lot.)

I then found a 40 gig hard drive that I wasn't using. I installed a fresh copy of xp, but the drive still wouldn't show up...I put the xp disk inside of my xbox 360 drive and started up the install process. Once all the stuff loads and it asks you if you want to install xp or repair, hit enter to install xp. Then it will search for pervious installed copies of xp. Once it found the one I had installed earlier then I hit r for repiar. Once it was done no lag and the drive is now working under windows.

I guess you could just from the beginning use the 360 drive to install windows...But this is what I had to do and I hope it helps someone

Please forgive the typos...it's alomst 2 in the morning and I'm spent! Just ask me if you don't understand something I said...I'll keep an eye on this topic.

such as? I used the mtkflash-nf4 and it locks on after selecting the correct drive. What am I doing wrong, I read almost every tutorial and everything on here, but I have had no luck. So the other method of deleting the sata chipset drivers out of the nvidia folder works? I have the DFI Lantparty Ultra-D. Can anyone help or any tips?

Hi all  smile.gif
I have a bug when i try to dump my firm.

The drive is recognize on bios and mktflash.

IPB Image
The mktflash detect but not reply after , i wait 10 min but do nothing

We can see on first pict TS-943 is detected by the bios on first SATA Master but on mktflash is detected on third fourth device...  huh.gif

I go to system info to see SATA NF4 and i edit the patched version of mtkflashNF4 with winhex for see if value VID> < DID> <primary port addr>  <,secondary port addr>  <text descriptor of VID & DID> correspond to my motherboard but all it's ok.

I try to disconnect all my drive; disable sata channel 1and2 or3 and4; change TS-H943 to other sata port 1,2,3,4; swap with maxtor sata dd.

I disable raid controller.

I try method with livecd slax but not work.
Could try to help me plz.

Thx

Sorry for my bad english,i try to improve myself  biggrin.gif
