Unrecognized Disc
« on: May 17, 2006, 02:33:00 PM »

I flashed the firmware after modifying it with my unique key.  All went according to tuts and readmes but when I put the disc in it says Unrecognized Disc.  I've coasterd 3 DVD+DL's so far.  Any ideas?

my computer?  I haven't tried yet.  Trying tomorrow.  I haven't flashed my firmware with the backing up firmware.  I *obtained* a raw dump backup of my game project gotham racing and patched with another *obtained* security sector file.  I'm going to just backup my own original tomorrow and go through all the steps manually and see if I get the same error

follow the instructions and set the booktype to DVD-ROM using DVDInfoPro as per the bitsetting/booktype tutorial.

Is your iso the same region and language as the SS?

Yes they are both NTSC

Can  you just give me some quick info on setting the booktype.  I'm not following what the tutorial says for setting the booktype with DVDInfoPro

Start DVDInfoPro
CLick on the +RW icon on the top row
Select DVD-ROM
Press button marked "Change +RDL Mode"
Press Close

Yeah, I read the readme and there is no info for setting the booktype using DVDInfoPro, it just says to "Ensure your burner will set the booktype of DVD+R DL to DVDRom" but doesn't tell me how.

So the steps would be to flash the drive with the firmware with Xtrm0800.bin,
boot into windows and then follow your steps with DVDInfoPro and that will fix it?

No!  You have flashed your 360 and its working fine

all you need to do is burn that patched image correctly...just burn it.

To do so you must make sure your DVD writers bitset is correct to show as DVD-ROM

So, start DVDInfoPro and follow the instructiuons abvove. Then open CloneCD and burn as normal.

DVDInfo Pro basically toggles a little setting inside the drive and tells it to flag the media as DVD-ROM not DVD+R or CD-R or DVD+R DL etc.

I dont know if this is the same problem or not.  I just flashed my samsung drive and all looks ok.  I have a backup of PGR3 which I am trying to boot NTSC mind you.  When I put the backup in starts to run then comes to a message saying "To Play this disc, put it in an Xbox 360 console"  Can anyone point in the direction of what to try.  Right now the 360 thinks the backup is a movie...Thanks!

Yep its booktyped right....I took a raw image from WXRIPPER and the proper SS.BIN....put the 2 files in the isobuilder directory then ran the bat file....is this the wrong way with using wxripper to do games?
