ok, so I put my 360 back together with the modified firmware,  until  there is a bit more information on  this.  In the  meantime though,  I played  around with  wxripper more, and I managed to get that to dump an image off.  I added the SS and burnt it,  with no luck.  This was  for Call of  Duty  2, and I got  the SS from a "usual  place", and I  don't know what the region of it  was.  I  live  in the US, so I have a feeling the rar package of SS's I found (from fallchild I think), may not be the right  region.  I  burnt the game, but it just came up with the splashscreen asking me to insert  it into an xbox 360.

So a couple questions, anyone have any idea what region fallchild's rar of SS's is?

I heard  rumor of  COD  2 being region  free, does this  go for PAL and NTSC, or is this just a rumor that isn't true?

Also, will game dumps from wxripper work with the c4e  package  builder?

Also, anyone that has this problem try  the  specialist "unlock drive" tool?  I found it on my computer for a while  ago, but not sure where I got it, and since my 360 is put  back together  for right  now, I don't  want  to take it back apart right  now.  Thanks.

ive been mucking around with this....

http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=513188

it contains an unlock util, I can seem to unlock my drive ok now i have a different symtom, my system now locks up when I open isobuster, I think its having problems reading the 360 for some reason makes me suspect this is a problem with the SATA chipset, im going to muck around bit more and then maybe try this other motherboard I have.

download the util and have a go see if you get same symtoms, thanks.

Ok finally got it to work!! well almost..

I have tried 3 boards now, both the via 8237 and 8237r chipsets can read/write firmware but no luck unlocking.

I am a comp engineer so i have lots of mainboard models to access.

Cheap mainboard means crap mainboard that is why i have used a Hewlett Packard server mainboard with sata...the chipset is intel but has a hp sticker on it that i cannot remove (dont own board) also it is an unamed board with these numbers on it  323091-001 CPQ D330/530 System Board.

It reads and writes firmware ok, also run dvdinfo unlock as per tutorials, used isobuster to extract image with tutorial settings.

Then using nec dvd2510 to burn dvd+r dl with firmware 205d that supports dvd-rom booktype adjustments...

currently burning cod2 with modified ss...will update when done.

Hope that helps

I have seemed to get around the ptroblem too, I have tried another system now I can unlock and extract, but on this system comes up with errors when I try to extract the SS

it seems problems are specific to what motherboard you have if you have one type of board you might have an unlocking problem, if you have another type of baord you might have an SS or flashing problem.

in the end I think if you cant get access to other parts then you'll just have to wait til other versions of the hack software is released.

im extracting battlefield 2 now, got the SS in XP pack so gonna see how that goes will post relsults.

100% success...yeah taken me 4 days.

Created iso with patched ss according to tutorials, then burnt with clone cd onto verbatim 6x dvd+r dl but took 26mins at 2.4x.

Repatched firmware with modified xtreme (put my key in with hex edit) then booted backup ok, game plays fine.

Repatching with 0800.bin to extraxt the rest of my games and attempt some ss extractions.

will update soon.

Cheers

Anyone used Fallchild's SS rar pack?  I am trying to figure out what region the SS's in there are based out of.  Still trying to figure out my problem with why my game won't work, I think the SS is wrong, and since I can't get my 360 drive to work properly in windows, I may need to look at other means of retriving these.

Thanks.

I have the same problem with Unlock(I have MB:ABIT IC7 MAX3) and I think can I do backup with my DVD-ROM using this:
or it will be another ISO file not supported with "Xtreme"?

You wont get a reply after you enter the FF 08 01 01 into dvdinfopro. you need to keep dvdinfopro open while you use Isobuster. Jut have it minimised. hope this helps
