Umm, no. This is PIRACY. Hacking and piracy are not one and the same. One can be an elite hacker and have no interest in piracy. One can be interested in piracy with no interest in hacking. A prime example is the one that originally said he found a way into the DVD firmware, but expressed no interest in releasing it because it was solely going to be used for piracy. Many top hackers have good moral character. They are interested in hacking because it is all about puzzles and solutions, much like others are interested in building Lego sets.
This hack has accomplished nothing for homebrew and everything for piracy. It is what it is.
HAHAHA!
There are already three broken XBox 360s on eBay... funny that someone would be auctioning a $300 console for $20 when it should be under warranty and MS has been repeatedly making good on fixing their bugs.
I guess we know why these are on eBay... hahaha! Torx wrench + 360 = BRICK!!
if your refering to the specialist.... i dont beleive he ever cracked the haitachi drive, commodore4eva was actually the first person to crack a drive. compare the way the xtreme bios works to the way ts said he hacked it and it is obvious he is lying (although it is possible that he was lying about the way he hacked it to send people off the paper trail, one way or another ts does not deserve a pedastool, he is a triter to the hacking comunity in my opinion and has detracted from the real glory that commodore4eva deserved)
the whole point of the dual mod is for dev and personal backups...if you want to just run pirated material then a firmware edit on the original chip will do just fine......dont be such a n00b and think before you use the keyboard. (IMG:

yes most people who try this at home to save money will end up with a dead xbox becouse it is really to hard for the average pirater to perform.......i believe you just proved my point....

Hypervisor is almost imposible to hack cant even buffer overun it.
hypervisor is not our problem......paladium is, hypervisor mearly prevents us from pulling apart paladium.

Now would it be possible to had a sata plug on the back of the xbox 360 to plug a sata lead into from your computer and have a switch that changes were the sata lead goes (eg switch one way and the laed goes to the xbox sata port. Switch the other and the lead from the dvd goes to a sata port on the back)
If this was possible then we could use one drive in the xbox 360 with the xrtm0800.bin on one st flash chip and the xtreme.bin on the other and plug a sata lead into the back and power the dvd from the xbox to make backup without having to open the xbox 360 up everytime we wanted to back a game up.
Im on my way to maplin now to get some stuff to have a look at making the sata port switch possible........................
If anyone want to help me with this idea we could start a new tread but im sure this is a easy mod.
Anks
smart man.... already started work on that for the promodel of our chip( its easily doen with a series of electronic switches or a nand gate), im just having a hard time finding a good supplier of surface mount female sata connectors, we are going to need 3 per board

Everybody seems to forget that you need to reflash the firmware when you want to play another game. EVERYTIME you want to play another back-up game you have to use the firmware with the right SS (Security Sector) for that disc. If you have 4 firmwares then you can switch between 4 different games without reflashing.
The 3rd frimware that you guys keep mentioning is only used once to get the unique key from your drive. Once you have it you have no use for the firmware.

Back on topic.. The resistors share pins 4 and 5 but off of there they get their own resistor to pin 15 and a wire to the switch correct? ie... (IMG:

Dont quote me on this but I believe this is the correct mouser part #
804-39SF020A7CNHE
It is the only 39SF020A they have thats 70ns and PLCC.. the one in the pic is a 70-4C-NH and this one is a 70-4C-NHE in wich the "E" means that its ROHS compliant..
excelent work...... do you want to autograph that and email it to me...ill put it in my updated tuorial (if you dont mind that is) (IMG:

Quick question...
What if you booted your "backup" game with the hacked bios and then "switched" to the original (non-hacked) bios? Does this work? Once the game is booted is the media flag checked again? This might provide better protection on Xbox Live...
not likely but not out of the question....it really depends on if m$ chooses to read the bios from the drives ram or not

What type of 10K resistor works best? Have a part number for mouser? or a cer
its only a pull up resister 10k would be a minimum but you could go higher if you like its really no porblem
QUOTE(chedabob @ May 17 2006, 05:30 PM)

wrong. only one resistor, and that goes to EITHER pin 4 or 5, or both if you want to make sure. also on the switch, out left pin goes to top pin 15, middle pin to ground and right pin to bottom pin 15. the switch isnt attached to differentiate between pin 4 & 5
heres a schematic. bear in mind this is only for the pin 4 & 15 connection, not the whole thing
(IMG:
http://theark.co.nr/files/lj.JPG)
you need a seperate resiter for every bank, its a pullup...or selector if you like

so i have a bunch of pi releases..a re they full rips i jsut need to code them with the proper SS?
allt he ones goign up lately are PAL

none of the pi releases work even with the ss patch, they were ripped with an xbox... you need a raw dump... hence the dual firmware so you can make your own backups....not download pirated ones from the net (IMG:
