We don't know.

If he doesn't, someone else will though. The Specialist proved that it was possible on a Hitatchi, and until this morning, the Hitatchi was the drive to have.

well, i'm interested in (when this hack comes out) what i will have to do with it, i wanna take a look at the tools that come with the firmware for the toshibas and samsungs, would they be similar if not the same to the ones for the hitachi?

The only thing that should be different is the firmware you have to use, i'd be surprised if they made another verison of mtk flash for the hitachi to work. (which could see the hitachi one very soon, as long as all that needs to be done is the hitachi firmware to be dumped then the mediaflag check edited)

Well apparently Hitatchi is almost finished, there are just a few issues with getting it to boot original xbox games right now.

That came from one of the Admin on Foros360.com

Exactly, I couldnt give a toss about running original XB games on my x360, I'd be happy to forfeit that to be able to run 360 backups.

the original Spanish post mayhave ment xbox 360 games rather than original xbox games...it wasnt very explicit.

well regardlesss, it's possible, and probably coming sometime soon, so if any of you other hitatchi users plan on using the hack, i would take a look at this current hack to find out what to do, it's a lot more complicated than the old xbox..but i was reading everything and it seems pretty cool

well we are half way there with the Hitachi...I have my firmware dumped waiting for the hacked firmware. I will then use the F360 tool just released to write my drives key into the hacked firmware and flash that firmware back to the Hitachi

use this one ...works perfectly for Hitachi. Remember there is no hacked firmware for it yet.

for getting the drive to be seen in windows, i remember the xtreme release said that you had to use this boot disk, then flash it..when the hitachi hack comes out, can we just use this boot disk?

that is in the tutorial, instead of flashing the drive with the firmware to be seen in windows??  can we eliminate that step?

I'm also running a Hitachi and really want this update. Only thing is, i'm reluctant to since i'd probably update the firmware and M$ will release a patch the next day or something, and my £300 Xbox is then screwed. That's the only reason i'm hesitant to actually patch it.
