Been an avid follower of the xbox hacker scene , i love the collective inteligence of the people out there .i bought my orginal xbox just to hack it , i would never waste a days wage on a game , nobody has lost any money from me because i would have never spent it in the first place.Infact MS have gained because i would have never of bought the xbox unless i could hack it, Me been an owner and telling all my friends about it got MS genuine sales by people who bought retail games.Sony seemed to accept this model of free market and didnt worry too much about protection. But MS lives a costant life of embaresment and in thier new dawn of trust worthy computing i do not think they will let this slide which brings me to a few questions about the long term feasability of this hack.
did anyone read the contract with thier xbox360 ?
Could M$ do some type of wmi query against the DVD seeing a modified firmware , they have your credit card detials for live , your ip and a contract tighter than a ducks arse.
Also what will happen if they play a game in the wrong region will this flag up ?
Also there is the worisome fact that everywhere you look people are cleary stating this is only good for piracy which would leave us with no defence what so ever , which would make it very easy for M$ to make examples of people and shutdown sites
1. did anyone read the contract with thier xbox360 ?
No i was too anxious to try out my 360 rather than read the documentation (though when i get some spare time ill probably pick through it)

May be possible would be TOUGH to contact and procecute that many people though if there is an 'easy to use' tool available to do it
3. Also what will happen if they play a game in the wrong region will this flag up ?
From what i understand this firmware hack does NOT circumvent region protection there is alot more involved to that (even if it did i dont think it would raise a flag though, i have heard rumors that certain games are region free)

Yes it seems to me it would mostly only be good for piracy or legal 'backups' of your own games (unless people can find exploits in unsigned game files for other uses...linux would be sweet). Im sure if someone made it apparent enough then yes MS would thoroughly enjoy making examples of certain people or sites. As for team xecuters possible 'ON/OFF' switch which might be able to support multiple firmwares, i feel they would have a much harder time trying to prosucute them since they would ship the pcb blank (id imagine at least) and though the functionaly of the PCB w/ two blank flashrom's COULD be used for using orginal and hacked firmware it also COULD be used for a list of other things
(by the way all of the info above is all personal opinion, just putting my two cents in correct me if im wrong anywhere up there)
